It’s a Great idea that you should buy Modular’s part by part, maybe I can make the bookshop easily with this method
@NewBrickerton Жыл бұрын
You can! for the generic parts it's definitely cheaper. Depends how much you want to spend to recreate the build in its entirety.

That's a hawk? I got one from a hobby shop I thought it was a gray parrot.
@NewBrickerton Жыл бұрын
Yes! You're right. It's part 2546, Bird, Parrot with Small Beak, not sure why I said hawk 😂

I got it along with 5 figures and 13 other animals for 23 dollars. The animals cost 30.95 alone according to the current prices. I got 3 fish 3 pigs in nougat 3 huskys 3 German Shepards and a red parrot.

Excited to see your next video about sourcing the parts. I’m curious how much you actually saved by sourcing the parts. Some sets I would think it’s a good amount especially if you swap out a few set specific pieces that were only in the set. $19 for a window pane is crazy.
@NewBrickerton Жыл бұрын
Thank you Jason! Yes, for me, I just wanted the building itself and I care less about having every single element be the original from the set. If you wanted to buy all the custom pieces it would get quite pricy. I am going to be including some detailed info about the cost savings in my video. Another way to save is if you are okay with changing the colors, it can also save you money. For example the LEGO town hall is built with a lot of Dark Orange pieces, some of which are rare, but I think if you swapped them for Red or Orange it would be cheaper. (Don't quote me on that though)

@@NewBrickerton I look forward to the video with the details.

What a fantastic way to really customize your city!
@NewBrickerton Жыл бұрын
Glad you think so! I am really into customization, as I know amassing a large collection of modulars takes years. Thanks for the support Matthew!

Tbh I've always wanted to part out older modular and Star Wars sets. Is the whole process worth it in the end? It's multiple sellers you're receiving parts from and, by extension, a lot of shipping costs to pay out.
@NewBrickerton Жыл бұрын
Definitely, it will depend on each set. If the set has a lot of generic parts, it will definitely be cheaper. But if it has a lot of special parts, it will become a lot more expensive. In my next video i will talk about this more.

I get my parts from lego online pick a brick and Amazon. I buy parts from Amazon because i have Amazon prime. So I have 2 day free shipping. I buy things like pumpkins or a set of scorpions. I also buy parts from pick a brick. I buy from the best seller list. I don't buy sets because I part them out. I buy sets for the parts. I bought a retired friends set from the juinors line for the pieces. I wanted the purple wheel barrow and a brown round brick to finish off a tree trunk. I try not to be a purist though I buy my 16 by 32 baseplates from China. I would buy them from lego buy they don't sell them for a good price. They also are not available. I do have a door and frame I bought from ebay when I started to rebuild my collection. I needed a door and it was under 5 dollars with shipping.
