I feel like we have a lot of similar experiences. I’m so glad I found you. I’m an artist too, mostly pencil drawings, but have fell off over the last year because of really bad experiences in art school. I relate to you so much and your channel is hyping me so hard to get back into it!!!!! Also I went to Colorado state for three years (for not art but basically pre-vet) but now live in New Jersey, I went to William Paterson University for 1 year for fine arts and then dropped out hardcore haha. I too live with my mom, and I too once lived in Connecticut (Stamford)

I go to an art university here in Florida as a fine arts major. Every studio class I have is constant studio work and completely project based! I’m so sorry to hear your experience was different from that. Learn by doing! I spend hours and hours drawing and painting every semester for my classes and I LOVE it. Yes it’s expensive, but I feel like I learn SO much from my instructors and I have gotten so much practice and learned so much. Sorry for the novel, just wanted to share my experience! I absolutely love your channel

We got weird together.......and by that I mean...I had literally just had a gaseous explosion exit my hole (not to be confused with the band, which, frankly, should be thrown into one) it was loud and dangerous, like a Mel Brooks movie. I was feeling proud of myself when, at that exact moment, I heard you say, "Oh, a great one" at 11:22 in the above video. The timing was exquisite, like Salvador Dali's moustache or John Waters' for that matter. Both masters of their craft. Also, I am recent to your kingdom having been introduced to you while watching a Kiptoe video; the two of you were painting each other. Great work. I love contemporary street art. Something I have enjoyed recently is mixing new school cartoon style with elements of natute. Fish, leaves, trees. Throwing in parts of the body such as eyes or hands to intertwine with bold thick black lines and pops of color.

Definitely got weird together, just a little delayed since I've only just found you. :) Totally was one of the 'can't draw a stick person' people, never picked up a paintbrush, then last year started painting miniatures for some personal therapy. Last weekend I was selling them at a local Con, and couldn't believe all of the positive comments I got. Totes shows that work makes the skills. :)

"Crafts", are taught and can be learned by most anyone but an "Artist" can not be taught, no one can teach you to be an Artist, either you are or you're not but can be someday if you're not if you aren't one now... LOL Art Schools will never teach you to be an Artist and don't claim to teach you to be an Artist but can improve your artistry maybe if you're an Artist... These are philosophical questions and ideas and concepts that need exploring to come to an understanding of what it means to be an Artist...
