Hey guys! I’ve uploaded a new video addressing the questions you’ve asked after my video on leaving AIIMS Nagpur. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIDPm6SshruDbq8si=csxhb4tzpAv931gs

I left Aiims Delhi Medicine Last year,and your story just matches mine.Once I was told "See even if you are hell tired,your works are your priority.Your work might be 48 hours at a stretch,but patient care must not be hampered". I also don't want to hamper,no one would do that intentionally for sure,but when a resident works for 48 hours at a stretch,You know,my brother,how it feels...It is more of mental anguish than physical burnout.Every other profession gets 8 hours work,8 hours rest,but we are not eligible for the basic rights just because we are "Doctors,next to God" and blah blah. Your decision is fine,Mental peace is the most priority,than anything,degree,career,amount of salary/stipend,relationships everyrhing,everything.I'm taking Derma this year in state College.Best of luck for your Medicine Journey,your new residency life.Hope to meet someday in future.

I think the government should make proper reforms on the working hours,hygiene,mental health etc of residents so that they don’t leave their seat out of toxicity,and also wasting a resident’s years of hardwork to crack a competitive exam, It’s indirectly loss of a resident
@Maaz_aziz12 күн бұрын
@@nehadas2931 Absolutely agreed, There should be specific judicial reforms for residents,after all we too are humans first residents later.

Every government official has mandatory work hours beyond which they should not be worked. Except Doctors, who they'll just milk the last ounce of their willpower. In Jipmer it's very normal for a surgery resident to not go home for 2-3 days. One JR in my unit could not leave the hospital for 4 days straight because of work. All this for no hands surgeries at all. The profs and senior SRs will hog all the surgeries. If anyone wants to pursue surgical branches, I will suggest go to state government medical colleges, atleast they'll give you ample hands on. One exception is Opthal in AIIMS Delhi, where every gets good hands on experience. Guys do your research before joing any college

Hi Maaz, Im Dr. Ashutosh, a 3rd year General Medicine resident doing his DNB. Firstly, congratulations on not just succeeding at getting a great rank, but also showing an incredible amount of maturity. You are absolutely right when it comes to choice of institution or MD vs DNB. Its the passion and confidence for the career you choose that matters, and not the institution. And your institution does matter in a major way- not in as much in prestige, but in toxicity. You have to enjoy the process to learn Medicine, for you to come out as a polished and confident physician at the other end. All the best for your future endeavours.

As a medical student, our concern is stop normalising leaving seats in premium institutes and that too in such top branches, be it due to any reason. Bcoz once you leave the seat, that gets wasted and another deserving student who could have utilised that doesn't get the chance. Great you had the courage to take this decision. Especially, even after getting such a great rank, you had to undergo this. However, before you choose the college and branch, I feel these things should be looked prior. Anyways all the best for your future 🙌

You have rightly pointed out. I have also done my MD in General Medicine. The problem with GM is GM people have to look after Emergency medicine, General Medicine, critical care, all three. We all know that GM people aren't properly trained in emergency medicine or critical care. As a result, GM people are overworked, overstretched during PG. But most people prefer GM due to scope of super speciality.
