As a Greek, I confirm that what Sam is saying about the Greek scriptures is true. Κυνάριον (pronounced "keenarion") means puppy dog, Κύων (pronounced "keeon") is the dog, this is where the word "cynic" derives from, because the first cynic philosopher was Diogenes (Διογένης ο Κύων, literally means: Diogenes the Dog, because of his lifestyle).

He's exactly right. I went to the greek and checked every word and interpretation and it's spot on. The text should literally read "house puppies." I do not understand why translators don't do their job in these passages that seem so difficult. If they would just translate the words correctly a lot of the stuff would not even be an issue.

It might not be a mere coincidence as Christ told us “when everyone was asleep, his ennemy came and planted weeds among the wheat and then left.” (Matthew 13,24). I would not be surprised at all to hear that the translators working in the Bible nowadays are not even Christian’s but believe in another religion like those after the Resurrection who “gave the soldiers a large some of money, telling them”… (Matthew 28). If translators of the Bible are only to be professional skilled translators they will do it to get a better salary so will be easily bribable as they will not work for people neither for God but for money and Christ told us “you cannot serve two masters. Either you will hate one and love the other, or you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” (Matthew 6)

Caleb, which is “dog” in Hebrew, was the faithful gentile companion of Joshua who explored Canaan and brought back the good report. Because Caleb believed when the Jewish patriarchs did not believe; he was given the city of Hebron as his reward. Caleb (“dog”) is the role model for faithful gentiles.

Even if the word means "Dog" Jesus didn't tell her she's a dog ... he wanted to teach her and the disciples a lesson by saying indirectly: Jews called Gentiles dogs but they are not... so Jesus taught them a lesson that they practiced later on during their missions, and eventually he showed her and everyone that Gentiles are not dogs (cast out) but they are in the family of God by believing the Messiah

Also this was a time where he did not want anyone to know (The passage doesn't tell us why) clearly this was some type of unusual circumstances to begin with.
