I knew Nazer is a Hebrew word for bud/sprout/Scion, referring to prophecies like Isa 11,1 וְנֵ֖צֶר Or Zac 6, 12 ( who uses another therm) And many others. Makes sense that he is called like a Scion of Iesse, the sprout in the desert. Sorry for my English

Nazareth's derived from "Netzer" which mean a branch that shoots up out of a stump. Although all he is saying is accurate in regards to historical description of the social view of the town of Nazareth. Isaiah A shoot will grow up from the stump of Jesse; a branch will sprout from his roots. In Hebrew the word netzer is for wood like branch etc, and the root of Jesse or branch of Jesse is synonymous for a prophecy of messiah. So Jesus of Nazareth is like Jesus of the branch or Jesus of wood. And this fits the tanak prophecy of him for many prophets talk about the connection of messiah to wood like branches and roots etc

Tovia Singer has an agenda which he is unlikely to stop pursuing. Whether he can read or not I don't know, yet I doubt he will bother reading anything that runs contrary to his agenda. I heard him one time, he was contending against the virgin birth, etc. I thought I was getting a contemporary view of a second temple Pharisee. A viper.

God bless you brother Sam! good explanation i did have a question. can we use Zach 9:9 as a proof text for the messiah being of a lowly upbringing? because there it says the king shall come lowly. and the hebrew word used there "anah" means "afflicted, humble, lowly" so can that show that he will be from nazareth i.e someone with a lowly and despised origin? usually i respond to this objection by appealing to Is 53:3 and Psal 22:6 to show the messiah is despised and rejected of men. can Zach 9:9 too be another proof text? remain blessed!

I would suggest a good prayer life as well as reading the Bible Also listen to good bible teachers , But be careful there are many false teachers . Mike Winger is a good teacher. And just listening to Sam on teachings about the Trinity is amazing.
