As someone who lives in France, there are two types of reaction among french citizens towards Embiid's decision to play for Team USA : 1) there are selfish people who are mad at the fact that he did not play for France despite getting his passport. 2) there are those (i think that's the majority, it's the just that the first ones make more noise on social media) who are just mad at his lack of tact and his mercenary-like behavior, saying that he should have refused France before getting his passport and should have played for his home country, cameroon instead of taking the easy road with team USA. But most of us weren't aware of this deal between the FIBA and the NBA and the whole insurance money stuff, i get where he's coming from now. P.S : for those wondering, we're of course ashamed of what the french basketball federation and president macron tried to do, most of us had the same opinion as Fournier and Tony Parker from the start. I wonder why the FIBA didn't try to break or renegotiate that insurance policy with the NBA. This is crazy. Even in soccer, in which players have a an actual market value, you don't see deals like that between the football federations and the clubs. Great video as always!
@cows5432 ай бұрын
I think FIBA hasn’t tried to change the deal with the NBA because the NBA is such a dominant force in basketball. So they have more negotiating power with FIBA than any soccer league does with FIFA

I think embiid is between a rock and a hard place when it comes to insurance. On the one hand, he doesnt want to bankrupt his home country if he gets injured (which is an incredibly likely possibility). on the other hand, if he tries to get the cost cut, ends up getting horrifically injured, and then doesn't get the full amount... Thats gotta sting. Especially since now his home country expects him to put his earnings into helping the community

I just looked up how much Embiid has earned just from his nba contract. $215,298,426 and he prolly pockets half of it. So 107,649,213. I think you have noticed that your skin is very dark. If you didnt, I'm sorry that you had to find out like this. However the reason that is relevant is that such as in the opening, the contrast of your skin against the light is somewhat distracting. No it doesnt affect the content, I still think you're wonderful and going places, and I feel that legitimately, not saying it as idle flattery. Its not a mark of a lack of quality or saying anything bad about you as a presenter or your media. But anything that makes the viewer stop and focus on something that isn't your words is a net negative for the video. With the work you put in on these, that would be a damn shame. I hope that was effective and diplomatic. I'm just leaving you comments and giving feedback because I really think you're on the cusp of breaking out big. TL;DR- maybe play around with your light sources to get more even/less reflective lighting? Looking into the ways movie sets do it of course is the best way.

French nationality is not something easy to get. I've been married ten years to a foreigner, she's never been able to get the french nationality. One of my best friends is from Ivory Coast, he's married with a french person, he has a french kid with her, and he still didn't get the french nationality yet. My opinion: he took the best decision to play for the States. Playing for France when you are french ex- colonies while you know the NBA system and having a better chance to win with USA… As someone who also left Africa, it is not sustainable for countries (as you stated: insurance... not enough great players, all system is weak). The best way for some of us to help with the development of Africa is work and play for Western Countries. I have a request: please stop using the term 3rd World Counties. It is REALLY condescending.
