Liverpool bossed the game, had far more possession but couldn't get through the low block of Atletico - it was the classic 'parking the bus' tactic' together with their spoiling tactics. Klopp didn't moan either, he gave honest observations and he was correct. Of course his smile is genuine as he knows what Liverpool can do at Anfield - teams need far more than a 1-0 lead against Liverpool these days, ask anyone from Barca ;)

True, I've known him from ehrn he was at Mainz, as a good and charismatic manager, then when he went to Dortmund his press conferences became legendary and I actually wanted him to win the league with them. My home club can't compete on that level anyway, so it was not hard to cheer him and his team on as well. Now that he is living and working in Liverpool, he actually made me love his club there to. I don't know of any other manager who could do that.
@MS-ls9ge4 жыл бұрын
I agree with most of you. His players love him for his passion, honesty and the ability to tell them exactly what they need to hear. He gives every day 100% - no matter what. If my boss where such a person, I would do everything to keep up. For the fans it is similiar and his charasmatic character does the rest. We want to talk, laugh and party with him. For Liverpool Fans it is not just a ball game. It is so much more and Klopp fits perfect in there. This is not just another job for him. He feels it. But, I also think, that the social change has to do with it. Players don't have to show-off or pretend anything. They can show and talk about their problems, fears and weaknesses - knowing Klopp will not judge them. And this is how he makes every single player better.

I'm a coach from England coaching in Melbourne Australia, I feel held back from the head coaches in most teams i have been at because they emphasize fun over quality, fun over winning. Is it just me or is fun loving how to be better and winning not just playing like I'm child minder. In my last season I identified the player that is amazing but needs to learn how to pass and did some kind of passing in triangles and the head coach told me the players look to static I was like I want them to focus on connection and the quality of passing but he wanted to do some unrealistic game that does not reflect what happens in a game.... Sorry I'm out here trying to build a successful team and people trying to stop me.. to all new coaches remain strong minded.

Never though anyone would come close to Bill Shankly on being a Liverpool Manager who looked like he was born for the job. Kloppo is just the same. A man of the people with amazing charisma and belief.

If this man goes on to be as successful as I think he will (and I can see him being at Liverpool almost as long as Ferguson was at United) then, let's see if you're still saying that in 10 years time!
