It amazes me that Nigeria education curriculum is void of History topics.Listen at age 11,I had already pored through huge volumes of West African geography, history & literature courtesy of old books left by my senior siblings who had studied them at higher levels.I would thus wrestle a good amount of questions around them on my feat later in life. Further a subject called GHC(Geography History & Civics ensured that at grade 7,a learner can competently sketch the map of Africa with all the 54 countries perfectly drawn and placed where they ought to be. Finish primary level at grade 8 and you transit to Secondary level when you can sketch the world map.Further,we are taken through the Geography lessons covering Europe,Asia,Carribeans,Australia and Greenland.

If Nigeria fixes them they will be unbwogable. 1. That is cheap energy attracts manufacturers and this time green energy 2. Nigeria already has oil ,just make it cheap for local market and that will lower the cost of production further bringing more investors 3 . Internet penetration 4. Corrution free 5. Roads and rail

Sarahbee, "Mambo Bado" in swahili. It is Swahili or Sheng (Swahili English mix of languages like Pidgin english). It means not yet. If you want me to say this in proper English grammar or saying, it is like the animal (could be a wolf) has tasted blood. It will not stop. The president has withdrawn the bill. The youths feel that this is not enough. Next week they will have the mother of all battles on Tuesday. Please get someone who understands this language/urban culture. Those of us (old folks) don't understand this language. Some of us have studied English and Swahili grammar. But we are not able to understand their urban culture. This culture cuts across all tribes. That's why some kenyan muslims interpreted those bad comments from a Somali member of parliament. And some other Gen Z's also interpreted the bad comments from the Deputy President. Put them in proper context. The Gen z's are Kenyans who went to school because of our former presidents. They have tasted the benefits of free Primary education. So our leaders cannot hold them back. The genie is out of the box. No way of returning it.

I'm shocked, that there are some African countries in which history as a subject is not taught in schools, at least in primary and secondary schools! In Kenya, history is a subject taught in primary schools, secondary schools and universities. History of one's country should be a compulsory subject in primary schools, secondary schools, and even universities. Your history explains to you how you came to be who you are and where you are, and even where you should go. A person who doesn't know his or her history is simply a fool who cannot have a sound vision for his or her society.
