I know losing Kingda Ka sucks but it makes complete sense! Why have a ride that costs that much to operate when it doesn’t even pull long lines? I think I read something that Ka only had about 12 million riders in 19 years, which is kinda terrible. They now have the opportunity to put a ride that will probably be an upgrade while also being reliable and cheap to maintain.

I was around for the Paramount buy out. I was around for Hypersonic and Geauga Lake and Son of Beast and everyone panicking... and ya know what? All these new thoosies who have nostalgia for Son of Beat and Hypersonic and Thunder Road and new intamin rides such... obviously never went to a Paramount Park... I mean those parks were operated HORRIBLY. I mean they were worse than anything back then and it showed in attendance. Back in the 2000s Volcano the Blast Coaster was a consistent walk on. It was BAD. I'd take KD as a park now than to take Paramount with Volcano back then any day of the week.

I cannot speak for myself on Volcano's line during the Paramount era. My mother who was a huge Volcano fan did claim Volcano always had a line during the paramount days. But I whole heartedly agree that Kings Dominion is in a far better situation than during the Paramount era. It took some growing pains but the park is in its best state ever.
