Mike Golic, Mike Golic Jr. and Will Cain question the timing of Mark Dantonio stepping down as the Michigan State's head coach after 13 seasons. Dantonio collected a $4.3 million bonus by remaining with the Spartans until January 15, 2020.

I'm going to miss Mark Dantonio. I'm a Nebraska fan but with that said, over the years, I have developed a genuine respect for Michigan State's former coach. In my beliefs he ran his program the right way, energized the fan base with the Michigan rivalry and coached with class and integrity. When I think of defence I instantly think of the past Spartan defences under Dantonio. They were insanely great! Smothering. Game winners by themselves on occasion. Michigan State and Nebraska has had some really good games recently as a result. I wish him well and I hope he gets a chance to coach somewhere else in the near future. They are a more often a 8-4 school most years not a bad school but not a great football power house like other schools in Their division. And it was time for him to go they were regressing. MSU is a average program that develops players and has really good teams every 3 to 4 years, although the Spartans did have a good run a few years ago. They need a really good recruiter to come in change the culture of the program.
