Only reason I think Oogway lived for so long (besides being an animal with a naturally long lifespan) is because he mastered "chi bending" and prolonged his own life to beyond what his species in universe was naturally capable of, allowing him to live to the point where the dragon warrior would be found.

He didn’t die, he just transported himself to the spirit realm. He did this since he could’ve easily beaten Tai Lung, but left so Po could beat him, as it was part of his destiny. In KFP3, it’s implied that he could easily come back to the real world. When Po uses the Wuxi Finger hold and gets transported to the spirit realm, he asks Oogway if he can come back, and Oogway just says, “Who knows? I never tried!”

All meme links aside, I don't think Wotso covers these videos because most of Hercules is explained through the actual Mythology itself, and the Greek gods. Ofc the Disney film has a lot of changes, but the Muses is the same as the mythology. As with Hades not killing a fellow God(turned human) it could tie into the Greek sworn oath, since Hades, Zues and Poseidon are brothers, much like the Oath Ares, Aphrodite and Athena made. Ofc in Mythology it's actually Hera who wants to kill Hercules (The Disney mom, in the film) because she's not his mum in the writings, Zues was a naughty boy. :o Gonna stop before I ramble more, I'm passionate about Mythology, sorry haha.

When Po asks if he can leave the spirit realm and Oogway responds with ‘who knows? I’ve never tried’ I think this really makes Master Oogway a hero. He could have come back and be alive agin, but he didn’t try. Simply because he didn’t want to. Po would never have flourished into the hero he was and would have been a shadow of Oogway. Oogway allows himself to be separated from the ones he loves, so he can allow Po to thrive. And it works. I just think that’s so touching. Po’s very luck to have so many father figures. Mr. Ping, Li Shan, Oogway and Shifu. To conclude because of Oogways Selflessness China has the Dragon Warrior. (Wow! I’m turning into a mini Issac ;))

The first time I saw Kung Fu Panda (when I was four), I remember being really stunned when I saw that Master Oogway was a tortoise. And not only that, but a Galapagos Tortoise (which can live for hundreds of years), and is a creature that is NOT native to China. But, if you want an animal character that can live a long time and be as careful and precise as Oogway, then using a tortoise was the right choice.

Because the outcome would be relatively the same, if not perhaps a little more in Po’s favor since Shifu could be there to help him when he’s demoralized. But if Shifu and Tigress both fall to Kai, then Po doesn’t have a clue that Kai is coming, and likely would be unprepared and would ultimately lose.

I have to say, I don’t think the spirit realm is the afterlife, it’s never explicitly called the afterlife in the films, it just happens to only have Kung fu masters in it and no other spirits, it is a realm of chi which is a power of life and healing, and it leaves no body in the mortal realm. Oogway even says that he *lives* there when po is worried about him fading away again, which also points out the fact that po was worried about him going somewhere else, this implies that there is somewhere else to go (he wouldn’t have meant the regular realm because I’m sure he would want Oogway to return). It just doesn’t make sense to be the afterlife due to all these things, so I don’t think Oogway ever did die, he simply transcended mortality when he left the mortal realm.

Another thing I should mention is that in Kung fu panda one po fights tai lung , however he fights tai lung calmly as we see po doesn’t get very aggressive in Kung fu panda one but in Kung fu panda two po gets aggressive showing both sides of the yin and yang in both movies and it 3 po finally unites them both to beat Kai.

Forgive me if it was mentioned (I don't watch the full video anymore because it's usually only you saying what's in the script, on the film lately) but a big part of Oogway and his ideals was the making of Shifu to carry in his place, and Oogway knew Tai would kill him, infront of Shifu, and that possibly could be more damaging and destroy Shifu's mindset completely, it was a topic that was brought up in my Psychology class, when we combined with the Philo students.

If they didnt send the messenger,Tai lung wouldn't have used the feather of the duck that fell off him to break free and escape. I think he decided to go because yes,his purpose was completed but also because if he stayed,Shifu would have not found the strenght to believe and teach Po. Shifu relied in Oogway advices too much and didn't believe he could have done it without him,you can see how devastated he is when his master disappears...he even says "Master don't leave me!".
