If you think about the root of the issue, it comes down to idea that under Dictatorship regimes, there is only 1 official political party and only 1 "right way" to do things. Under Democracy there are always at least 2 different parties, and at least 2 different choices of doing things. Even when both choices are bad, it's still better than having only 1 choice and at least there is some real discussion happening between people of 2 parties about what should be done. When there is only 1 party, 1 way, there is no discussion

Something else I've noticed in line with this is it seems that there is no distinction between the government of a country and the country itself in these people's minds. So when you speak out against the government, you're speaking out against Russia. It becomes personal, an attack on ones national identity.

@samorybalde6515 Of course, I've never been there. But I have talked to people from Russia who vaugley or provide a hint to their opinions of Russia. So my experience with the everyday Russian is different. What I am trying to say here is that the Rusaians I've connected with have hinted to me that they can not share what they fully think even though text or voice call. Or they could be at risk. I never said that the people in this video were like the Russians I have communicated with. But what I have mentioned now, is that the Russians I have talked with always complain about the conditions of their country. Why do you feel offended by my comment? You never asked me in depth where or why I have this viewpoint of Russsians but jump to conclusions. As of there is a hint of subtle accusation against me?

Our peoples are more alike than either nation would like to admit. We all appear as livestock, indentured servants of an oligarchy and given just enough information to have our worldview shaped by our leaders. We both remain intractable and self righteous rather than curious and critical in our reasoning. Pity our societies do not teach their children how to truly *think*. I suppose it would complicate life a great deal for the ruling class.
