As a Russian, I can say that because of the new laws, it is simply dangerous to publicly express your point of view, which differs from the Kremlin's propaganda. Sorry, but people aren't ready to lose everything and go to prison for 4 years (and probably just die there). In a country where any opposition point of view is severely punished, you can either remain silent without changing your principles, or leave, which, unfortunately, is very difficult due to the total impoverishment of the population and a bunch of sanctions aimed at all Russians (Blocking SWIFT for Russian banks, refusing to issue visas and closing borders to Russians, etc.). By the way, it was the sanctions affecting the entire population (even those who disagree with this regime) that made a huge gift to Kremlin propaganda on the topic of "Western hatred of Russians," which helped to regain the trust of citizens ("Putin was right, the whole world is against us," and so on).

So quick math. The older gentlemen said his pension is 14000 rubles. Shot in the supermarket says 139 rubles for 10 eggs. That means he can buy 1000 eggs a month, not to forget he also needs to pay rent, heating, water, electricity... Doesn't leave much.. Imagine working your entire life and you get screwed over like that and still think your president is good. Mind blowing.
@glazgo_ferkins822421 күн бұрын
For one person, 60 eggs per month is enough for breakfast. It will cost 834 rubles. Even if you add in other expenses for food, utilities, and medicine, there is clearly more money left than the supposed '1000 egg comparison.' You need to count the real need, not the hypothetical 1000 eggs.
@tgr558821 күн бұрын
@@glazgo_ferkins8224 Not exactly. Daniel's quick math is more or less correct. A man needs on average 2500kcal a day, a woman 2000kcal, but let's just say 2000 for everyone for simplicity. 10 eggs for 139 p each egg having around 80kcal gives you 5.7kcal/p. Butter on the video was 160g for 250p, this gives you 4.5kcal/p. Okay, so let's say you get 5kcal for every ruble. 14000p*(5kcal/p) = 70000kcal. This is the energy from food you could get in a month eating half eggs and half butter. 70000kcal is quite a lot, because this gives you 35 days with 2000kcal each. Sounds doable at first glance, but now factor in the fact that you need vegetables too which have almost 0 calories etc. Add to it bills/utilities. Add a harsh winter with high heating utility bill. Add any unexpected expenses, medical, anything really... It becomes impossible. That's why he said that his son is helping him. Because it would be impossible to survive otherwise

@@DanielSydney1337 Firstly, the pension size in Russia is calculated based on work experience (official employment in Russia is allowed from the age of 16, and from a younger age, but it requires approval from authorities and parents), the sum of IPC points (individual pension coefficients) for the entire work experience and their value in the year of retirement, and, most importantly, the salary size and how much a person put into the pension fund. Regional allowances and other modifiers are also taken into account. Ultimately, a person determines his or her own pension. Secondly, even if the pension is not enough, there must be relatives, children who must help their parents. This is literally written in the Constitution. In this case, everything depends on family ties, and if there are no family ties, then, well, these are personal problems. The state which completely cared for its citizens fell apart more than 30 years ago: now we live in capitalism.

There are of course a significant number, particularly young people, who disagree, but is there any country with 100% devotion to the leader? 1989/90 was a very different time when that the west, particularly the US set out to exploit the crisis in Russia, not for the good of Russian citizens.

Of course, this is the curse of humanity. I saw in the comments that they said that for expressing a public opinion you can go to prison, etc. I want to say that discipline in the country is better than untied hands, which then spill over into LGBT, and other nonsense that people have come up with because of their comfort zone. I also saw a comment where a person said that everyone in the video is choosing their words so as not to be held accountable later. I can say that if you approach a person on the street in Russia and ask him something, he will be polite and will choose his words, because we have such etiquette, it has developed historically. I can also say that regarding the situation in Ukraine, Russians care less than other countries. Sanctions only encouraged Russia to develop, and I really see and feel how Russia is developing in all directions. To be honest, I don't even know how I came across this video...
