Was Shadow Weaver really sick when she showed up in Adora's bedroom in season 3 of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power? Or... was something else going on? I think it's option two, and that Bright Moon, Glimmer, and SheRa are all in greater danger than they realize!

Shadow Weaver is just drawn to power. Her entire character is built around her addiction to it. It's why she is so fixated on Adora, why she joined the Horde before, and why she's defecting now that the Horde is losing the war and she lost the Black Garnet. This doesn't necessarily mean she's a bad person, but she will do anything to be close to power and gain more of it for herself. Btw, Shadow Weaver does straight up say that she's going to die before She-Ra heals her. She's not beating around the bush there.

@@Avatarbee Horde Prime is worse. At least Shadow Weaver was willing to die to protect Catra and Adora. She may be CLOSE to pure evil but Horde Prime IS pure evil.

@@tomnorton4277 I do think Horde Prime is more diabolical and insidious compared to Shadow Weaver, but who's to say he didn't experience trauma that created the persona we saw on screen. When talking about the First One's, he called them tyrants. Perhaps he had an (unprovoked) bad experience with them or his creators in the past. Still, it doesn't make his actions any less "evil". But yeah shadow weaver and horde prime are an apples and oranges issue, in my opinion.

If Mica is possibly alive maybe he can get through to Shadow Weaver. Glad you discussed a theory on She-Ra Season 3. Hoardak is my fave villain because of his aspiration of greatness and painful backstory. Also as someone with chronic pain, I felt for him as Entrapta helped him into a better suit.

Is Shadoweaver up to something? Well, duh! What exactly? Not sure if even the writers have decided yet. I hope they don't have the Rebels decide she's all reformed and redeemed. She should be sent right back to her prison... without the pillows. My best guess is that if Horde Prime does not take back Hordack, then maybe Shadoweaver will try to join Horde Prime. We'll see next season. And I still call this one "season 2.5" not season 3! Netflix just split it at the hall way point, because there was a cliffhanger in episode 7. Favorite villain, Catra! I mean, she was ready to watch the world burn, so long as it got Adora! And then Dark Catra/Nega Catra/Super Dimensional Catra, whatever you call her, yep, there's some nightmare fuel for your kids! Awesome!

Not according to how Netflix listed it. Some shows they say parts, but She-Ra is seasons. I hope they count 2 and 3 together so we get a more fill 4 season story arc like the creator imagined. 😁

Catra breaks my heart, and I do love the relationship between Hordak and Entrapta that's been building up. I find Shadow Weaver mysterious, and since I don't personally have the same emotional attachment to her that I have with Catra, I think she might be my favorite villain.

I love that you focused on shadow weaver teaching adora how to heal!!! I actually have a fanfiction that starts off with that scene and was inspired by it because shadow weaver says 'if your not careful it can be destructive'. The story goes on how if adora can draw healing magic through positive thoughts, she can also draw dark magic to herself through negative thoughts, even on accident. It's called 'no more ignorance, no more bliss'. Check it out if you want. Anyways, Shadow weaver did have time alone with adoras sword, when catra had captured glimmer and bow after princess prom and adora was forced to be without she ra until catra ended up giving her the sword back. We see shadow weaver with the sword on screen for a small fraction of time, she could have looked it over more thoroughly off-screen at some point beforehand or after. Also, the fact that adora and micah (and possibly glimmer, not sure about that though) we people Shadow weaver could sense the power of even when they were young, its not a far stretch to say that since she seemed to have an addiction to power even before she turned dark that she was attracted to them and loved them simply because she loves power and she knew she could use them (and she very much did love them, but couldn't recognize the difference from her love of power to actually loving them as people very well. I do geniunly believe she loved them though as people, deep deep down.) The reason she hated catra (in my opnion) is that she didn't want adora to turn against her or become rebellious like catra. Also I do believe Shadow weaver was jealous of the love adora had for catra, season 5 solidified that notion. All that is to say that yes I agree she had a deep addiction to power. And I loved your theory about her just wanting to be closer to the ruins stones and possibly take glimmers place! One last thing, shadow weaver was actually sick. Like you said when she escaped she wasn't connected to the black garnet anymore so in order to preform magic she had to pull from her own energy and power alone. She had a little help from the alignment of the moons and the sand she got from her badge, but that was it. She feeds off of dark magic and that comes at a cost. The only way she could have gotten out of the fright zone and into the brightmoon palace without being caught was to use her dark magic. She most likely had to push past her own limits to succeed in such a feet without any other power source helping her, so when she got to bright moon she had over exceeded herself and as a price for using more then she had the parasite started to feed off of her thus starting to kill her. (remember her true addiction started when she became one with the parasite, thus creating a constant need to feed its need for more magic.) Adora had healed her of this need to feed when she healed her from her dying state thus why she was able to stop seeking power constantly and be patient instead of trying to get adoras trust again to have access to her power. Yes she did pull that with glimmer, and shadow weaver probably knew that it would be too much work to try to get adora to that level of trusting her again, so she settled for glimmer instead but I do feel like she was helping glimmer a bit out of grief for micah death as a homage and also because she was attracted to glimmers power. I also think she saw a bit of herself in glimmer too. Anyways, just came across this video tonight and watched it and even though I know its all wrapped up now I still like to geek about characters, especially my favorites like shadow weaver. I enjoyed your video! I really wish we could have seen shadow weaver trying to teach adora magic, either when she was younger or after she knew she was she ra and whatnot. It would be interesting either way.

Shadow Weaver is my total favourite character! Literally the only reason I watched the series was her comebacks! Also, I’m pretty sure she does care about Adora. The spell of obtainment probably had a little to do with her being drawn to power. In season 5 she asks Castaspella to stop her if she goes after power. The expression on her face in the last episode right before she died looked like it was actually genuine. Also, she defeated a creature that could kill even She Ra while her powers were weakened. She could have just left it to Catra!

I just finished the last season yesterday and I'm still not completely sure that I understand Shadow Weaver as a character. She jumped back and forth constantly, and always kept her hand close to her chest (never really explaining much on her logic).

I really doubt Shadow Weaver just wanted power when she came to Bright Moon... I really think she just wanted revenge, because why else would she not just take the Moonstone’s power in the first place? She could do it whenever she wanted, but she didn’t. Also, I can imagine how ANNOYED she was with Hordak and Catra, so I really think she wanted revenge...

Shadoweaver is a sorceress who studied the black garnet to a such a degree that she was able to tap into its power. She can probably recognize another runestone when she sees one. She does not need them to think that she owes them a debt because honestly even if she did owe them a debt she would still betray them if it suited her. Literally no one excepte Glimmer belives that Shadowweaver is to be trusted. She wants the runestone obviously. She just needs to figure out how to tap into its power while the stone has a princess bound to it and Glimmer is making it really easy for her by letting her roam around as she pleases.

I have a theory that the first ones are us in the future, who invented portals and advanced space travel and finally found another planet with highly intelligent life just like them. Atheria. As their planet was dying, they built lives on Atheria, until everything happened with Mara and they had to get back to Earth before the portals would rip reality apart. I've even noticed that Adora seems to look more like a normal human than the other characters. Most of them are hybrids or have weird hair and eye colours. But Adora looks like us. I also think Adora may have been sent through the portal as baby if it wasn't because they somehow knew she was the new She-Ra, that it was because their planet was dying and they wanted her to have a happy life. Or even because her kind was on the verge of extinction and she needed people to look after her.

I think that when the 1st Ones forged the Sword of Protection (whether they created it b4 or after Mara became She-Ra - I’m not sure 🤷‍♀️) it influenced the planet of Etheria in2 choosing ONLY those from Eternia as the She-Ra Guardian since an Etherian Runestone was embedded in the hilt (along with 1st Ones tech) & only a 1st One could wield the Sword. Which is y I believe the was no She-Ra between Mara & Adora’s timelines, Razz said She-Ra had existed LONG b4 the 1st Ones arrived from Eternia, so there had 2 have been many Etherian She-Ras b4 Mara. But Adora was the ONLY 1st One on Etheria, so she would’ve bin the only option 4 the Sword 2 choose since it controlled the planet’s magic, as well as its weapon the Heart of Etheria. But when Adora shattered the Sword & released the planet’s magic, Etheria should b able 2 choose future She-Ra Guardians from its home world again (or any individual from any other planet) without influence from a restrictive weapon 😌

So with the coming of He-Man. You have to ask how it all ties in. We know Adora is not the first She-Ra so it is entirely possible the original He-Man can tie to all this. Which raises the question will there be a tie in between the two? How about this. Shadow Weaver is actually Evilyn. Escaped to She-Ra's world and helped the Horde reassert power.
