Can John Swinneys 2nd attempt as leader of a divided SNP unify the party or address its challenges effectively? Unlikely. His previous leadership stint and recent roles have left many questioning his ability to bring fresh perspectives and solutions to the SNP’s problems

Graeme MC Cormick has some good ideas on land tax. Pity he couldn't carry it through. We needed that debate. I'm beginning to think that the only way to get out from under is to do what any other colonial power has done. UDI after a form of *illegal* referendum and then when the tanks roll in to fight.

After you declare unilateral independence, what will you do for currency, who will you trade with, your income tax will have to go up about 10%. Thats if you can still use sterling. I think it needs a bit more thinking about than UDI

Absolutely spot on, especially picking out the mad notion that there is a deal to be had with Labour, or indeed with the UK in the event of a vote for independence. We need to kick the door open and leg it out of the UK. Other thing right to highlight was the insanity of SNP 1&2 voting. We need to vote SNP in the constituency votes and Alba, or the ISP, in the regional list, in Scottish Parliamentary elections. Vote tactically to shut out the unionists and to move independence forward.

I heard the GRA bill has been scrubbed. I would like to know what is going to be done about stopping the Freeport's or regulating them. Did Scotland ever have a choice?

The SNP can't blame Westminster, they were in on the Freeport's, and they knew fine well that no government can regulate them once the contract has been signed. An Independent Scotland will have to take our land back, not buy it back.

I think Lloyd said that Scotland has come to the end of the devolution road. Presumably full independence is the next step. I am just wondering how that will be achieved, when the SNP are vited out next time??

You should try following Scottish politics. It's been discussed plenty of times. You're obviously not paying attention.
@keiththirkill9877

@@Kate-nt6bj it may have been discussed, but obviously, no answers/solutions have been arrived at, not that it matters now given the SNP bankruptcy, and the fact that the Scottish people have woken uo to the woeful SNP performance whilst in govermment. Its never a good idea to vote in a SINGLE issue party. Proper Government is what is required. Was the £33 million ringfenced for agriculture ever, found? I expect thats been used on pet projects and plugging holes in SNP finances.

@sugoitom Scottish banknotes are unusual, first because they are issued by retail banks, not government central banks, and second, because they are not legal tender anywhere in the United Kingdom or even in Scotland. They are not recognised on the international money markets because they are promissory notes, not legal tender so raising finance to cover the existing near £ 20 BILLION GBP budget deficit on a 'SOFT' currency will be impossible and no way would the EU accept them - and it seems strange that many who support Independence want to immediately lose it by joining the EU.

Scottish devolution is the most powerful devolved government in the world. At what point do you accept that the SNP are an inept government. I suspect it would be at the point where you can no longer blame anyone else in a disastrous independence. I'm not expecting any likes

N. Ireland has way more power than Scotland when it comes to Devolution, but that is beside the point. Why would any Country accept the rule (or rather misrule) of a foreign power? We, the Scots, never entered into a Union, that was an arranged marriage to save some of the Scottish Elite. Scotland was then colonised and still is, even the pretend government in Holyrood has to do as it is told by Westminster, who do as the English Elite and Globalists demand. Another serious point you miss is that the SNP is not representative of how an |Independent Scotland will be. The SNP are clearly not interested in Scotland, never mind Independence. To believe such shows that you are informed by the wrong sources; i.e. the English Media. Perhaps it's time you looked into how all the other 65 Countries are doing since breaking free of Westminster and the constraints of such.
