How would an independent Scotland cope with a scenario in which pro-union parts of the country are annexed by rUK? We know Roddy supports this scenario in another country, so I'm quite certain he must have considered the possibility of an indy Scotland being much smaller than it's current borders.

One of the problems of AUOB (for independence) and getting folk out is AUOB isn't remotely that. I have chosen to attend multiple matches even if I am uncomfortable with Socialist Worker placards, (handed out by the usually collection of zombie zealots) and other parafinalia for fringe left wing parties I share littie with other than a desire for Scottish Independence. Scottish Independence is however not and cannot be allowed to be seen exclusively as some kind of left wing experiment or a stepping stone to a socialist Scotland etc. Apart from anything else such an approach cannot ever deliver the diversity of support needed to see a sizable majority in favour of leaving the Union. But left wing fantasy and idealism aside, I can live with those, even if my actual political views are not actually welcome under their banner. However the presence of Palestinian flags and effectively support for HAMAS at Scottish Independence rallies is beyond the pale for me. The multiple on going tragedies of middle East are imo not in the remit of the democratic Scottish Independence movement. The situation is in fact intractable and nothing said or done in Scotland can or will changes that. I can a will support the other democratic separatist movements of Europe and beyond, but Palestinisn goals are neither separatist or democratic. Sorry but I won't be attending any other AUOB events unless this issue is addressed. AUOB needs to be what is says it is IE a platform for ALL who seek Scottish Independence, by democratic means, it cannot be diluted by unthinking far left zealots or distracted by side issues linked to those same folk.

However, Mr Neil - the Scottish Government are NOT allowed to reduced income tax levels for anyone (that's just one of the poisoned chalice that we were handed on devolution).
