Human Rights Commission is there to promote, protect and advance the human rights (Juris civics) of the Srilankan Citizens. The Human Rights Commission has the powers to conduct inquiries, make an application (a complaint) directly to the Human Rights Commission against any discrimination and intervene in applications before the Commission. It is a known factor that Politics often blocks the protection of Human rights. The Commission should protect individuals' freedom from infringement by governments, especially from the police department. Tharindu you and Tharusi are doing a great job, you represent the idea that every human being is born free and none should be held in servitude. Thank you for intervening & representing the society, in issues relevant to arbitrary arrest, detention, degrading punishment, inhumane treatment and torture.
