Mavs keep forgetting, they got kyrie at the helm. While kyrie is a great talent, he is not the guy to get you a chip. They shouldn’t have made that move. Lakers definitely needed that for the future if nothing else. Can’t say no to that trade. Kyrie was with Boston and that team was losing with him. He then left and they became a tough team and future champions again smh.

Rob didn’t do anything. Mavs did not want to pay Luka and they wanted AD. Rob being cool with the Mavs GM just made the move easier for the Mavs to make. That’s the only reason why Mavs didn’t test the market. Plus AD is playing well this season.

Maybe i’m in the minority but the way Dallas fans feel about this trade is how I feel vise versa. I don’t think people understand how fortunate we were to have Anthony Davis and just how devastating his absence is going to be. What AD does for a team on BOTH ends of the floor is transcendent level type stuff. I’m sure Luka will win me over eventually but just like Dallas fans feel like you don’t trade Luka under any circumstances (outside of a requested trade), I feel the same way about Anthony Davis, you don’t trade a guy like that under any circumstances.

Well you are absolutely underestimating Mavs without Luka. They have a good squad. Now with AD they arguably have the best front court in the NBA. Derrick Livley, Gafford, AD and the fact that AD doesn’t have to be the defensive focal point or anchor will allow Davis to be more healthy. Mavs weren’t going anywhere with Luka injury record. Last year even the playoffs he was injured. Previously he was often out. I just think people really putting Davis legacy and greatness. Luka hasn’t done sh*t compare to Davis for career and legacy. AD still has a lot of years in his prime.

Previously other years Luka could not carry other Mavs roster to the finals (porzingis) ( Brunson) The year before Brunson left. Brunson carry that team in the playoffs because Luka was out again before coming back and losing to the warriors

I think Nico should be fired. That was a horrible trade and I'm a fan of AD. But AD is towards the end of his prime and Luka hasn't even entered his prime yet. Of the top 10 players in the league, AD is easily the best defender. The Lakers handled the Knicks last night in large part due to the defense Christie played on Brunson. Luka is great, but there's no guarantee he'll win a chip with L.A. The pressure and spotlight in L.A. may be too much, especially if Luka is missing games because he's out of shape.
