👉In this reaction video, we explore video "Hidden Message Behind the Shocking Event! Why Did the Whale Swallow Jonah / Yunus (PBUH)" by "Towards Eternity." The graphics were impressive, and I enjoyed learning the new story of Jonah (PBUH). Jonah was sent as a messenger to a city of idol worshippers "Ninevah", warning them to worship Allah alone. After 33 years of warnings, Allah gave them 40 days to repent, but they didn't, leading to punishment. They repented upon witnessing the punishment. Jonah left in despair before the 40 days, however Allah had commanded to wait for 40 days, and was later caught in the middle of a storm where he ended up being swallowed by a giant whale, upon realizing his mistake and started praying and seek Allah's mercy. Allah forgave him and made the Whale spit him out on shore, as he was weak a tree miraculously grew protecting him from scorching heat and providing him food. After gaining strength he went back to his city it is the he realized that people had now started believing in Allah, he Thanked Allah.

The message is this: Allah is always prepared to forgive as long as someone repents and rectifies well before death comes to him. There is another message: if you are not prepared to forgive as Allah does, then you oppress yourself just like Jonah (PBUH) oppressed himself by putting himself in the belly of a whale by incurring Allah's wrath upon himself. This shows that even a Prophet like Jonah, who Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) called the best of the Prophets, can incur Allah's wrath :)

The story of Prophet Yunus is not all about history but it is actually a good lesson and a mercy for all mukmin(the believer). Life is the test, prophet Yunus had gone through the test before and no doubt everyone of man and woman will also be put to the test by Allah. It is clearly mentioned in the verse below that Allah will show the way out for those who really believe His verses. Allah said; "Had he not of those who always glorified(praising Allah), he would have certainly remained in its belly until the Day of Resurrection." (Al Quran Chapter 37 verse 143-144) Allah said: "So We answered his prayer and rescued him from anguish. And so do We save the ˹true˺ believers." (QS. Al Ambia' verse 88) So if we are a true believer, we must also take the lesson of the story and always glorify(praising Allah) as much as possible because it was reported that prophet Yunus was glorifying Allah(tasbih) by saying "La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz zalimin" non stop 24 hrs for 40 days. If he stopped he would die. Wabillahi taufik wal hidayah

As for your question about why they felt that someone had to go into the storm it was because they were superstitious and felt that the storm would stop if they threw a sinner overboard. The only thing is that they didn't know who the sinner was so they literally cast lots to see who would get the short end of the stick. Jonah voluntarilly decided to be the one to be thrown overboard because he felt guilty.

The purpose of that story is a message to Mohammad puh and all believers. ﴿ So be patient for the judgment of your Lord, and do not be like the owner of the whale, when he called out while distressed.* If a blessing from his Lord had not overtaken him, he would have been rejected. He left his city after he despaired of his people, and they did not believe. He went to the port and boarded the ship. And in the middle of the sea. The ship was attacked by whales or a huge whale, so he suggested that the solution be to throw one of the men into the whale. To eat instead of sinking the ship. Tauheed means Oneness of Allah, this is the first and foremost pillar of Islam ☪️, without the acceptance of this Tauheed no one can be a Muslim. If someone doesn't believe in the Oneness of Allah and associates partners with him, Allah will never ever forgive that person. It's called Shirk which non Muslim people commit unless they revert back to Tauheed and become Muslim, every human being is a born Muslim, it's the society and the environment that changes the way the child is brought up, one research was done on aborigines in 1950 by the scientists and they had not been exposed to anything or other humans and scientists found out that whatever they were doing was exactly what a Muslim would do. Another tribe was in deep Congo jungles which I am aloof of name wise, they too were found doing exactly what Muslims are taught to do and they too were never exposed to other people on the earth.

Even though he was a prophet, Yunus (Johner in the Bible) was still a man and he stormed off out of the city when he didn’t achieve what he had hoped. He even felt that he knew what the Nineveh people deserved. We can identify with Yunus here, can’t we? On a human level, we often give up too soon, and we often stomp off when we don’t get what we want. On a spiritual level, we see lots of wickedness in the world and think we know how the evildoers should be treated. Some people even take it upon themselves to punish them. Having left the city behind, Yunus boards a ship. He has had enough and he sets sail far away from the scene of his failure. Once at sea, though, a storm grows up and the crew are terrified. These pagan sailors being superstitious feel that the gods of the sea must be displeased with them or a slave must have escaped from his master, so they draw lots to throw one man overboard to calm the storm. They draw the lot indicating that Yunus should be thrown overboard. This happens not once but three times, and the terrified crew throw him overboard thinking that in doing so they will be protecting themselves and their ship.

Dear Melissa, it was the belief in Aasyria in the the 8th century BC people believed that the cause of a storm at sea was that an sinful person was on board and the only way the the storm would subside if the sinful person was thrown overboard. The way to find the sinful person was to draw lots. I hope this helps you understand the story of Prophet Jonah.

Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, _to my God and your God.'"_ If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:28 Jesus said "I do nothing of myself" ? Can't GOD do anything he wills? If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.” If Jesus was GOD, then why in Luke 23:46 Jesus said "Father (GOD), into thy hands I commend my spirit"? Luke 23:46 “ And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.” If Jesus was GOD, then why in Mark 10:18 Jesus said “And Jesus said to him, ‘Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.”? Also in Luke 18:19 Jesus said only GOD Almighty is Good: ""Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good-except God alone." If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 26:39 Jesus begged his GOD to have mercy on him and to pass the cup to death (kill Jesus in another words) before Jesus goes through the pain of crucifixion? If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 18:38 he didn't reply when he was asked about the truth? If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 24:36 Jesus said "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." Jesus told his followers that no one (including Jesus) knows when the judgment day will come, only GOD knows? ……. If Jesus was GOD, then why in Isaiah 11:2-3 GOD had put the spirit of fearing GOD in Jesus? Also see GOD's Spirit in the many others beside Jesus. ( And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him) Isaiah 11:2 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. Mark 16:19 …… If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:31 Jesus told his followers that if he (Jesus) bears witness of himself, then his record is not true? If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:30 Jesus told his followers that he can't do a single thing of his own initiative? John 5:30 “ I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:36-38 Jesus said that GOD had assigned him (Jesus) work and GOD is a witness on Jesus? If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 5:37 Jesus told his followers that they have never seen GOD at anytime nor ever heard his voice? John 5:37 “ And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.” If Jesus was GOD, then why did he pray to his GOD in Luke 5:16? Luke 5:16 “And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.” If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 26:39 Jesus fell on his face and prayed to his GOD? Matthew 26:39 “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. If Jesus was GOD, then how come in Hebrew 5:7 he prayed and cried for GOD to hear him and give him mercy by saving him from death? If Jesus was GOD, then how come in John 1:18 he said "No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the FATHER'S side, has made HIM known." Where do you see Trinity in this Verse? If Jesus was GOD, then how come in John 5:37 he said "And the FATHER who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard HIS voice nor seen HIS form," Jesus and the GOD are different. People heard Jesus, but never heard GOD. If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 17:3 he said “ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3 (Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.) If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:40 he said “ But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.” If Jesus was GOD, then why in Numbers 23:19 he said (GOD is not a man neither the son of man) “ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 17:25 he said ( and these have known that thou hast sent me.) “ O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.” If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 15:24 he said “ But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
