It reminds me of an incident that happened when i was in school, we were re receiving our test results, now we had to give the test in thin notes copy which we were to use through out the year, & after every exam we were allowed to take it home and get our parents signature on it. Now when we were checking our Sanskrit marks, i saw that sir had by mistake give me more marks that i would get, & as i was weak in this subject so i was already getting bad marks. But my deskmate(who was also my friend at that time) tattled to sir about me and i got marks deducted. But the thing is that day before all these happened we had got our english test results and she had very conveniently changed her marks with a red pen(she didn't change her mistake). At that time i had decided not to tell our teacher about her but after she tattled about me i decided to go with my other friends and tell our teacher what she did.

What does a cover charge cover? I cant say I have been anywhere with a cover charge.
@michaelslater9637Ай бұрын
Basically it’s a way to make more money off of busy times. Rather than adjusting drink or food prices, due to higher demand, you have a cover and can adjust the cover based on how busy you are.
@ItsbasiccАй бұрын
It's also used in various ways by different businesses for different reasons. Some bars have large crowds who don't drink a lot (unique I know but some bars are really like this) so they charge cover to make up for lost funds and people are happy to pay for the ambience I guess. Other bars often club like bars have extremely cheap drinks. So much so that they sell at a loss. This is to get people into the door who are planning on getting super drunk and making their money back (they never do tho) some bars in my city charge $20 cover on busy nights. So imagine a group of 4 come in. They paid 80 total dollara and paid an additional 20 dollars that night on almost 20 drinks. You've now made 100 dollars on 20 bottom shelf drinks which usually only sell for 3 dollars. That's 40 dollars more in cash than if you just charged no cover and sold booze at a regular price. Not to mention people buy less alcohol when it's more expensive. Whereas even with a cover people feel incentivized to buy more drinks when it's cheaper. Now you've sold more stock than usual and made more money.
