I wanted to add that the tips are made of rubber on the dji air 3 and the slightest bump will cause the orange tip to snap off.that is why I just bought carbon fiber blades that cost $35.00 a pair .they are way stronger than that Chinese crap for propellers .it is a no brainer.hope your channel grows,thank you🤗👍

I was flying my Mini 4 pro at night and I was limited to 50feet as I am near an airport. I flew behind some trees and as I was coming back I ran into the trees. I realized obstacle avoidance does not work at night. I got the Drone out of the tree and it is fine but just something to keep in mind that obstacle avoidance does not work at night .
@Eloc626
@Eloc626 10 ай бұрын
Yes great point. And combining it with the obstacle avoidance struggling to detect trees even in daylight is almost a death sentence. Glad you were able to retrieve it without any issues.

50 foot restriction? Nope. Not buying it. Please cite the airport you're talking about. There isn't even a way to indicate an altitude of less than 100 feet. And you aren't supposed to be flying at night unless you have avoidance lights on your drone. None of this makes any sense.

Airport is IND Indianapolis I used the Aloft app and sent request to LAANC and they give automatic approval for only 50ft. I did have a strobe light on my Drone, I am in class C Airspace. LAANC does allow 50ft request, @@chuckschillingvideos

The Mavic 3 Pro tells, when the ambient light goes too low, that OA is not available. Selecting night mode in the camera gives tge same message. Doesn't the Mini 4 warn You?

I lost my Air 2S on my vacation last summer. I didn’t thoroughly scout the area I was flying in and completely lost my drone to a Georgia pine tree on the side of a mountain. I completely misjudged the tallness of the trees on a non level mountainside. My Air 2S clipped a branch on its side and I never recovered it. I couldn’t get to the crash site because it was a forested area and it still might be a 100 feet up in that tree. A very expensive lesson learned. There is a moment of joy after tragedy for my drone life because with this year’s tax return I just purchased an Air 3 that I received last week. I do know now what NOT to do. Great job. Thanks for letting me share my story and you got a new subscriber.

Ugh, after going through a crash, I really empathize with other crash stories - especially when you can't even recover the drone. Very glad to hear that you were able to get a replacement recently. And a very capable replacement at that. Enjoy the Air 3 and thanks for the subscription!

Great video…and nice reminder of those things that can cause a drone crash. I’ve lost two drones over the five years since I’ve been flying- both equipment failures….I think

I had a incident with my DJI mini 4 pro. When i was going to test it in my home where there's plenty of room in the living room, "i was going to just test hover" but i did a normal take off, it went up about 3-4' and i bumped it up a pinch, and it uncontrollably SHOT up and slammed into the ceiling and on its own, then shot forward and slammed against the wall and broke both front arm hinges and 4 of the 8 propellers in random spots, and popped the gimble rubber support off. I can only come to conclusion that the obstacle avoidance didn't know what to do in a room and went haywire trying to do what its supposed to do and just couldn't go anywhere. But i just bought all new blades and new front axis arm hinges and carefully put the gimble rubber back into place, and its was GOOD to go without any issues and work perfect again. The arm hinges are super easy to replace but require a tiny torques head. SO note to share, avoid in-house take offs at all costs, Even for a simple take off and hover.

Thanks for the warning for cracks at the narrow point! So far the edges have been checked for knicks, hacks at their edges. Thanks for the tip checking the battery temperature before starting charging.

Good Video and good tips. I think you missed one huge item. Make sure your Quad and your controller are both running the most current tested Firmware and app. Also, a drifting drone issue can usually be corrected by an IMU calibration. Thanks for sharing

Took a brand new HS700e to fly in a park. Stayed within 20 ft altitude to try it out. Was all good till the battery went low. I thought to get more practice so flew it even lower and slow. I thought when the power goes out, it would just land in soft snow. But no, suddenly I have no control and it picked up speed and went straight east towards the trees and crashed. Battery fell out but looks ok, scratched all propellers and bent one. One pair of legs broke off at the base. So glued the legs back and put on all new propellers, I will try to fly again today.
@Eloc626
@Eloc626 9 ай бұрын
Oh no!! It hurts even more when it’s brand new. Better luck today with the practice! Also, be sure to check out the battery care tips that come with the drone because it’s usually never good for the battery to be discharged all the way down. Usually they advise not to go below 15%. That’s for almost any rechargeable battery - but definitely double check the specs for yours specifically because it may be different.

@@Eloc626 Thank you! Somehow I thought I need to drain the battery😅. Will try to fly after the Part 107 test later today. I bought this HS700e and a $60 toy drone around the same time, and was somewhat messed up in my mind with the controllers. Now I will focus on the Holy Stone. Also re-read the manual and found that I did skip a whole section. So lack of knowledge contributed to crashing it.

@Eloc626 Damn. Sometimes you can let electronics dry out (put it in a bag of rice) and it ll work. Ive been able to bring back a smart phone that way but never tried a drone.

I did so much research when it happened. That can work with fresh water but apparently salt water is pretty much an immediate death sentence. Took like a minute or two to track it down too. So it was getting pounded by the waves for quite some time sadly.

Drones crash because drone operators do stupid things. And the thing I see more than ANYTHING is BLOS flight without an observer as well as night flying. I call BS on anyone who says they can keep a visual on any Mini drone at 400 feet.

@@Eloc626 Yes, I was perhaps overbroad. But I don't think anyone can deny that the vast majority of drone incidents/crashes is due to operator error. I'm guilty of it myself. Three weeks ago I flew my Mini into a tree. I do stupid things. Everyone does stupid things. We do more stupid things than inanimate objects fail on their own.
@Eloc626

@chuckschillingvideos agreed. I think it’s very safe to say that majority are due to operator error. I left that out of this video because people usually know when they were flying like a fool lol
