The story I heard was that there was an asbestos abatement order imposed upon the lessee of the buildings, that was Larry Silverstein, I believe. Lucky Larry. So, he was supposed to remove the asbestos, on his dime, as ordered by the New York Port Authority, which was the governing Authority requiring asbestos abatement be done ASAP. And the information that I read said that this directive was issued several months before the 9/11 incident. Problem solved, Lucky Larry? David Icke book on this subject spells it out.

Actually, it might have evaporated. Nano-thermite (the explosive the buildings were packed with) generates enough heat to vaporize steel. That's why there were virtually no intact beams from the buildings' frames that were found in the rubble. If it had been just a fire, the entire framework for all 3 of those buildings would have been unharmed and could have been reused, as has been done with many, many steel framed buildings all over the world. Kerosene (jet fuel) does not burn nearly hot enough to melt (or significantly weaken) structural steel, and most of the buildings' interiors were made of nonflammable materials. The US was (possibly still is) the only country with the technology to manufacture nano-thermite (which is standrd thermite, but powdered to near molecular consistency.

I haven't been able to find anything on this doing a quick internet search, but I was around at the time, and it's something I remember. A couple of Bush Jr.'s staff members recalled his very first staff meeting after taking office as de-facto President. If I remember right, Richard Clarke was on the staff, and disclosed that that was the first thing Bush wanted, i.e. to find a way to go to war with Iraq. Another staff member whose name I don't recall reported the same thing. If you had been old enough to be following the events in the couple years after the 9/11 attacks, and had done so, you would have known that Bush, Jr. was very anxious to go to war. He wanted to be a "war President" because war Presidents are better remembered in history. Finally even Bush, Jr acknowledged what we all knew, that Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks, yet Jr. used 9/11 as an excuse to bomb the hell out of Iraq. Well he couldn't have used 9/11 as an excuse unless he allowed it to happen. One thing I can tell you that you can look up is evidence that members of Bush, Jr's administration helped orchestrate the 9/11 attacks. See "Rebuilding America's Defenses" a manifesto written by the Project for a New American Century, many members of which later became part of the Bush administration. In it they expressed the need for a "New Pearl Harbor" in order to get the American People to go along with attacking and dominating countries in the oil-rich Caspian Sea region. Then look up Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta's testimony at a Congressional hearing. He was with Cheney in the basement of the White House while the plane attacks were happening in the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. He reported Cheney ordering a military man to allow the plane that was heading for the Pentagon to keep going. Then in the aftermath, Bush did not want any investigation on how and why the attacks happened. The whole thing was fishy to say the least.
