Astrology tells you about your past karma and its probable outcome in this life. But you still have opportunity to give your best in your present time. So its just the understanding or misunderstanding of the subject. If you are spiritual then bad events in life cant shake you up as you have fully trained mind. But to say that nothing bad will happen to you just because you are a devotee is a wrong perception. Even Lord Ram had to face huge setback and yet he showed us the path of righteousness. Even as a God incarnation he had to suffer, then what about us, mere human beings?

The life itself is a method of permutation and combination..what is needed for me in my soul journey may not be needed for you so that doesn't mean its not worth it in any way..one thing is for sure, Astrology is not a must thing to explore for each and everyone out there.. At the end of the day astrology is something that one predicts from his/her perception.. If u don't have keen observation your prediction will be wrong.. Sometimes free will can change the way of the prediction to happen..it can delay it prepone it or omit it accordingly.. You need to be open minded first.. Otherwise nothing gonna work in case of spirituality.. Think about it when someone approaches you for any guidance or advice what u do is u advice him in a way he can understand it rather than focusing on the deep meaning lying inside the fact.. But even it were true, it is now invalid. Because laws are same as old, but socio economic conditions have changed. So it's not possible to predict future applying the same old law.instead I would say it was truly an ingenious idea . Despite of having modern mathematical tools extracting information from data was truly ahead of it's time.one of the problem with astrology is that it's not updated with time.

Astrology is all about spirituality and makes one aligned with cosmic energy. It is the man who turned it into a business. Like fire is used for cooking, keeping us warm but the same fire can devour a city in a nuclear attack. It's all about the user. Not the fire. Swami ji, if he had said this, he knew about mentality of common man that's why he didn't patronize astrology. Otherwise a person of his caliber wouldn't be critical of a sacred and ancient science. Swami Vivekananda himself did not believe in astrology and horoscope. He has clearly rejected this idea. He said to take the whole responsibility on your own shoulders and know that you are the creator of your own destiny As per Vivekananda, astrology or horoscope and all such mysterious things are signs of a weak mind. Swamiji said that even in this world, this body and mind are superstitions. We are infinite souls. It is a shameful condition to be tricked by stars and planets. Swami Vivekananda didn't give much importance to Astrology and Horoscope. Rather he gave much emphasis on the realization of God. Swamiji said that all these ideas such as astrology and horoscope, although there may be a grain of truth in them, should be avoided. The knowledge of Brahman is the ultimate goal-the highest destiny of man. The present is determined by our past actions, and the future by the present. We make our own destiny.

Yet Swamiji had all symptoms of medical aliments as per the planetary positions. He didnt believe in astrology but at the same time his followers believed that he predicted his own death. The fact is, he knew that he had incurable and plenty of health problems which at that time had no remedy in medical science. But surprisingly his spiritual master R.K. Paramhansa ji told that astrology is true and astrologer is also a human and his prediction also depends on his own stars. Things are bound to happen as per God's plan and you cant change it. Also I would say that yogic practice needs vegetarian diet compulsorily but swamiji arrogantly refused it. See the result, he had 31 types of diseases in such tender age. Neither did he study and translate the vedas by himself but thanked Maxmueller for the english translations. That time Swami Dayanand Saraswati ji's Ved Bhashya could have been of great help. Moral of the story is that every monk or sage is a human being and its natural for humans to be wrong at times. Lets not think of them as perfect enlightened being.

They even said something that only me and my family members only could know. They never met me. So now I am in a dilemma that now should I believe or not. Planets only predispose but do not determine. The material person does nothing to change this predisposition and the horoscope is fulfilled, similar to when a doctor makes a diagnosis and says that if you do nothing to change your eating habits, you will die of cancer in another year more. The spiritual person frees himself from this predisposition with the force of his spirit. It is wrong to say that Swami Vivekananda did not believe in Astrology, he knew that the planets only predispose but do not determine, correctly established the limits of Astrology and wisely advised not to give it too much importance.

Such a system is known as a deterministic system. Our universe is one example. If you know the given starting conditions, you can predict what will happen in the future quite precisely. We think that human behavior is random and non-predictable. However, human psychology and behavior are the results of our neurotransmitters emitted by our neurons in response to external stimuli (touch, sound, etc.). Our behavior and actions are actually not random; they are quite predictable. Thus astrology uses the conditions of your birth to predict the general or overview future of your life. Many people ask, "what do planets have to do with us? They're just balls of rock and gas." However, just because they are far or not obvious does not mean they do not have an effect. Planets are very large and have very strong gravitational forces which act across distances of millions of miles. The sun has the highest mass of any body in the solar system, so It naturally has a very strong effect, and this is stated in astrology. Similarly, the poles of the Earth's magnetic field (Rahu and Ketu) have a strong effect because they are very close to us, so the magnetic field strength (B)is high. I'm quite enjoying this channel. But, I never see the source from which the creator/narrator quotes the words of all these spiritual souls. It would be very beneficial. The same way one should not believe in astrology, one should not believe in words attributed to someone without any evidence.

Just like.. if a doctor gives wrong medicine.. whole of medical science cannot be termed as fake.. sameway if astrologer makes a mistake in prediction whole of astrology science cannot be termed fake.. Swamiji mentioned Sri Ramakrishna s horoscope to prove how his guru was destined to be a redeemer. Sri Ramakrishna believed in astrology hot he said that he could tell a person's nature and future seeing his forehead....and this is how he chose Swamiji to be his apostle. Sages like parasar, vyasdev, jaimini,garga brought astrology into being. Even in Mahabharata we see Krishna and gandhari considering astrologers. We know how astrology fixed calendars, dates of solar and lunar eclipse correctly. We know how budhhas future was prophesized. Swamiji might have told this but I have read his complete works and have seen that he believed in many of a things like black magic and supernatural powers which we usually considered to be superstitions

Do you know Swamiji provided his palm print to a famous palmist, numerologist and astrologer Chiero. And his palm print exactly potray his world wide fame, detachment to material things. Swamiji may have right discouraged to follow astrology blindly. Chiero was the greatest modern astrologer. His works are reference materials thar today most astrologers use in India and abroad. Even Chiero hismelf used to say 80% is mans own effort and 20% is luck. But that doesnt mean plam print is a lie or the astrological findings are lie. They are as truth as any other ancient study. Only thing to know man' s and work can change luck and as again said by Swami Vivekananda " Only God can alter a man's destiny". Lesson is just by followung astrological findings we should not stop working or stop chasing what we want. But astrology is very true. God can help us to better our luck.

With utmost respect I don't agree to wat Swamiji says. If one reads Shrimad bhagvatam u will know that just like animals, human beings have different species. A human being is conditioned to think and work as per the kind of body that he has recieved. Further that body that he has recd is also bcoz of his past karmas. Hence Krishna in Bhagwad gita says that human being thinks that he is doing everything he is the doer. Whereas actually he is totally under the influence of his six senses (Indriya) of his body. Those six senses are very strong and exert substantial influence on one's pattern of thinking. However one who has surrendered to me (Krishna) is able to rise above bodily aspersions. A rare gem like Swami is born once in many lifetimes. Not all can attain that level of consciousness. So until one does reaches that stage it is absolutely fine to use tools that benefits one self like astrology or vastu shastra. It's absolutely fine. Lastly even swamiji himself told that he won't live beyond 40 yrs bcoz his body will not be able to bear power of his super conscious state he will achieve. And the same thing happened also. Swamiji did not live beyond 40 yrs.
