This comic is really still canon? I'm afraid that it might not fit continuity with the way they seem to be buffing Vader in the new comics. Sure, Sidious has the upper hand, but Vader seems at least 5-10% stronger than he used to be in the currents comics. So instead of being 80% as powerful as the emperor he seems more like 85 to 90%.

I think he played it the right way if he spoke up and confronted Palpatine he would've more than likely been destroyed so his plan was a good one he knew he would need help which was supposed to happen when Vader found his apprentis but I'm not sure if that was before or after like destroyed the death star. Vader wss always planning to to get rid of Palpatine even before he lost his limbs to obi one. The injuries he suffered on moustaches was a major set back. He even told pademe. But the fact that Palpatine lied to him about pademe made him want to get rid of him even more and the fact that Palpatine allowed Vader to think that was even more disturbing.

His chain of importance (so to speak) was: family -> friends -> self -> order/mission. He WAS loyal to his friends. But his loyalty to his wife supercedes his friendships. Keep in mind, his force visions in the past had been proven real, ie when his mother died. Comparing his Jedi premonition to a "bad dream" is nothing but an attempt to project real-world truths (premonitions don't happen) to a universe where premonitions are relatively common. And Vader betrayed Palpatine because Palpatine betrayed him and was murdering his son (Palpatine = friend, Luke = family, family > friend).

Why would Palpatine try to help Padme when it was him who ordered all those attempts on her life the past 13 years.

Every discuss or words Palpatine had with Anakin should have been as a means to lie, deceiver and use Anakin. Why? He was behind everything! He was giving information to the Separatist about military operations during the Clone wars. However, more importantly, he ordered assassination attempts on Padme live. The man who did that Anakin believe he would help him save Padme live. Really! With all the things Palpatine was doing against people Anakin cared about, supported and depended on, he sides with him.

Maybe that's not possible? The Force is basically magic, and Force Lightning follows different rules than actual electricity. Which is why it is possible to throw it around inside of metal-filled rooms without it arcing to the nearest conductive object and grounding out.

Darth Vader's power was quickly gaining on Sidious. While Sidious was spending a lot of his time and energy in schemes of immortality, Vader was gaining in power. People unfortunately see his final moments incorrectly in my opinion. They see it as a guy picking up a smaller guy and throwing him down a shaft. WAY OFF. Vader's telekinesis was off the charts, and Anakin used this in conjunction with strength and cybernetics. Anakin used a tremendous force power unseen, crushing, controlling, guiding, unyielding, terrifying, and too devastating for any Sith lord in all of past and future history to defend against. Id say that even if the emperor fell in a nice cushy bed, he would have died within another minute from the bodily trauma.

Hence why Vader could not survive mere seconds of being subjected to Palpatine's lightning, yet Luke did and endured a longer duration of it than Vader.

Vader should have went off on a "mission" and just left the Empire to do things on his own building his own Forces to eventually fight the emperor. Possibly even leaking information to the rebel alliance through either one of his own storm troopers out of uniform or somehow capturing a rebel and giving them this information while Vader stays anonymous not letting anybody know where his loyalties are

Did Palpatine actually lie or deceive Vader about Padme's death based on the information Palpatine had at the time? Palpatine seemed to believe Padme died when Vader attacked her on Mustafar. Why would Palpatine believe she died some other way? Did Palpatine have some information that Padme left Mustafar alive? Palpatine certainly didn't know Padme gave birth to twins.

The Lightning didn't kill him, but the lack of oxygen from his broken iron lung in his chest did. Luke sustained far more lightning than Vader did and still got up just fine afterwards, so Vader didn't come close to receiving a lethal dose. He just died of suffocation minutes later.

Seems like the logical route for Vader to have taken at that point would be to have risked cloning new limbs and body parts to regain an upper hand on Palpatine. Too many writers in SW now. I think pretending to be subservient was his best option, he could formulate a strategy where he could've killed the emperor, Yeah force lightning was a threat to him, but he did have the empires $$$ on hand he could've gotten a clone and done force transference, could've gotten a new suit, I think its bs in the world of star wars there isn't anything to regrow limbs but wtvr. Vader had plenty of chances to do just like Kylo Ren did. But his thinking was of defeating his master. Most Sith probably took their masters by surprise. Vader thought to much in terms of a straight up fight. Palpatine got his master drunk and killed him. My personal favoritism of Vader aside, I honestly do think that Vader was the stronger of the two. He had a wider range of abilities, or at least he shows us as such, and he was much bigger and stronger physically. I think that if Vader were to confront the Emperor in person and attempt to murder him, he likely would have been successful in the moment, but he never did so because even if his victory had been reached, his cybernetics would have been mostly destroyed in the encounter, leaving him to suffocate to death minutes after Sidious was already dead. It wasn't Vader that was in danger of the lightning, but his mechanical body parts. In canon, force lightning takes several moments to kill someone, so Vader would have been able to persist long enough to use the super strength of his robotic hands to crush Palpatine's throat, spine, or some other vital area. Vader has also demonstrated that he is fluent with tutaminis, the Force ability to absorb energy. This has been shown to be used against Force lightning, blaster bolts, and as seen in some legends comics, it can even allow one to grab the blade of a lightsaber. He is also capable of using Force Shield to protect himself, and Kinetite, a statically charged sphere of Force energy. It isn't like regular Force lightning, but it is capable of destroying large vicinities and can tear someone apart. Vader likely would have been able to block, absorb, or repel Sidious's lightning, but he couldn't do so in Return of the Jedi due to direct contact with him.

Using the Force to grab a lightsaber blade is canon. The Father in the Mortis arc of The Clone Wars grabbed Anakin's blade and forced it back into the hilt. While it is canon, I'd assume that it is an insanely advanced Force power that is almost impossible to achieve.

Palpatine could kill Darth Vader very easily by blasting his mechanical suit with Sith Lightning. In addition, Vader was also "consumed" by the Dark Side at the time that he discovered that the pilot who blew up the Death Star was a Skywalker (possibly, but not definitely a relative of his).
