I have two separate comments I would like to share. For the first one, I agree with everything you said about the raptors and the potential they have in a Dino Crisis remake, if they were designed to adapt to strategies like A:I’s Xenomorph. As far as them having the potential to set new standards, I also wondered if it could be neat to give players a toggle-able option, whether they want the raptors to have more traditional scaly models or more hawk-like feathered models. The reason I suggested the latter is that it could give a Dino Crisis remake the opportunity to prove that more updated feathered raptors can also be menacing horror antagonists. That is, while still giving players the option to see HD versions of the fully scaled raptors they grew up with. I think a good template to start with is the feathered Utahraptor from “Jurassic World Evolution 2”. From there, certain details like bloodstains around the mouth/wings, some scars on their body, plus more threatening color schemes for the feathers can be added, so they can still look “monstrous”. Also, besides the different feathered raptor variants having differently colored plumages (to mirror the differently colored scaly raptors), some of them could also have different types of extra feathering, such as ornamentation on their heads that are shaped/colored like the horns of a dragon. And both the scaly/feathered raptor models can have different sizes for each variant.

For my second comment, I was wondering if you had any ideas in mind for what new reptiles a Dino Crisis remake could add and, if applicable, what Survival Horror enemies/bosses they could be modeled after. If you would like to read some of mine below in no particular order… *1.) Edmontosaurus annectens (Oscar the Zombie Elephant in RE Outbreak File 2’s “Wild Things” scenario) -* Similar to the Triceratops pair in DC2, this could be another opportunity to subvert the “Herbivores are Friendly” trope. Not only that, it could allow a hadrosaur to play an antagonistic role for once, especially since E. annectans is thought to rival or possibly even exceed T. rex in size. In a hypothetical remake of DC1, I could see it patrolling a territory similar to those areas of Raccoon City’s zoo with the zombie elephant. Due to it being a confused animal in a foreign environment, while also sensing predators in the area, the Edmontosaurus is prone to violently reacting to anything it comes across. Its attacks can include charging Regina at high speeds, swinging its tail, seizing Regina by its jaws and throwing her, and an instant-kill where it brings its hoofed front feet down to crush her. Also like the zombie elephant, the player could either bring the Edmontosaurus down prematurely or avoid it until a scripted point, where its death is needed for story progression. Though, killing it prematurely will enable more raptors to appear in those areas sooner, with the Edmontosaurus no longer threatening to trample them. *2.) Spinosaurus (RE1 Remake’s Mother Neptune and RE2 Original’s Giant Alligator) -* This portrayal of Spinosaurus would be based on more updated paleo depictions with shorter hind limbs and a paddle-like tail. Regina could be ambushed by one in a flooded area resembling the RE1 Remake’s Aqua Ring. It will lunge out from the water to try and grab her, possibly try to break the window to an underwater control room, etc. At the end of its final segment, it will emerge from the water and chase after her into a dead-end corridor, recreating the RE2 Original’s alligator segment. However, the trick to save ammo by making it bite a fuel canister should be a harder puzzle solution to pull off. *3.) Adult Therizinosaurus (possibly the El Gigante in RE4) -* The Therizinosaurus enemies in a DC1 Remake could be re-contextualized as mere juveniles, attacking for similar reasons as the Therizinosaurus in Jurassic World Dominion. With that in mind, Regina could face one or more adult Therizinosaurus, which attack like an El Gigante and incorporate some nods to the JWD Therizinosaurus’ design/sounds. *4.) Quetzalcoatlus/Hatzegopteryx (heavier counterpart to DC1’s Pteranodons) -* Rather than spending most of their time flying around Regina, these larger Azhdarchids would try to land on top of her, then gallop after her like predatory giraffes. They only take flight again, if Regina leaves the area, starts climbing a ladder to a new floor, etc. *5.) Oviraptors (based on DC2’s Oviraptors, mixed with RE’s poison-inflicting enemies) -* Maybe these enemies from the sequel could be introduced early on in the first game’s remake. Similar to the giant spiders and other enemies in classic RE games, their signature spit attack and other abilities can inflict a “poisoned” status. They could also have patterns of brightly colored scales and/or feathers, reminiscent of poison dart frogs. If such a game needs more than one toxic enemy, maybe the Compies (or at least a variant of them) could have that ability, as a homage to the Jurassic Park novel.

It's funny because I was asking my best friend about enemies in terms of should they add at least another new enemy to the original and he wanted to add a dinosaur that had never been seen before and I told him that should save that for a brand new game. The dinosaur I came up with that I would personally add when talking to him was the Dilophosaurus from Jurassic Park because of their spitting attack could be used to inflict a poison element similar to what your 5th option was.
