That's not really controversial, Rebels is mediocre at best. Just recanonize the EU while changing the weaker aspects like the overuse of superweapons or the wishy washy references to the Clone Wars. OG Tales of the Jedi, KOTOR, the Darth Bane trilogy, Darth Plagueis The Republic comics, the 2003 microseries and CWMMP novels, the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series, the first Force Unleashed, the X-Wing novels, the Thrawn trilogy and Hand of Thrawn duology, the NJO books and the Legacy comics should be the blueprint on where to rebuild Star Wars.

Even his golden child, "The Clone Wars", as good as it was, still had flaws (like the obvious pro-republic bias) and unnecessarily retconned much of established Canon just for a quick story that's finished within 1-2 episodes. In truth the expectations of Star Wars fans declined ever since George Lucas left, and nowadays some people start crying when the see a 2 minute cameo from Luke or Anakin in a series and call it "peak Star Wars" just for that. Its not just the Star Wars brand that died, its also the fanbase.

First thing Disney did after buying Star Wars was cancel the Clone Wars.... first major mistake, replacing with Rebels, which was inferior. They realized this was wrong as they brought back characters from Clone Wars into Rebela, and returned the series for one more season and created spinoff Bad Batch.

It would be wonderful if Disney sold Star wars. The company that gets the rights needs to eliminate all politics, race and LGBTQ crap from the movies since the only goal should be to make a great movie with good characters. If an actor who fits the role happens to be gay that is completely fine, but he shouldn't be hired because he is gay but because he fits the role. A way out is a trilogy about the Old republic with Darth Revan as the main character. He has a similar path to Anakin Skywalker, becoming a Sith after being a Jedi and then becoming a Jedi again. Then you can have standalone films about Malgus, Nihilus and Sion. If done correctly those films will restore the franchise and then the sequels can be remade taking into consideration George Lucas' plans.

I still haven't seen the last sequel. The Last Jedi pretty much killed off whatever faith I had in Disney. As soon as I heard the director say something about "subverting expectations" I knew the whole franchise was going in the opposite of the right direction. Fans of franchises like the Star Wars Universe don't want their expectations subverted, they want them met. Giving them the opposite of what they expect just pisses them off. Rian Johnson was a terrible choice of director for a Star Wars film. J.J. Abrams was exposed as a talentless hack, yet they bought him back. I would love to watch a good Star Wars movie/show, but my expectations are so low now I can't justify a Disney+ subscription. The only medium where Star Wars is still alive is gaming. The gaming industry still manages to put out some decent stuff, probably because they have much less oversight from Iger, Kennedy, and their idiot flunkies. A good way to resuscitate the franchise would be to basically take the scripts from KOTOR 1&2 and SWTOR base game, make them as movies for KOTOR and TV for SWTOR, and DO NOT change a fucking thing about them. Hire the original writers if you can. Those three games are a potential gold mine of good writing, plot and characters. They are also thematically consistent, linked, and have a defined chronology. The only way to fuck it up would be to try and make them better, try to "broaden their appeal", or try and "modernize" them. The only way to make Star Wars work again is to give the original fans what they want. Get them excited again and word of mouth will spread. That's how it got big in the first place. If the true fans aren't liking it there's no way it's going to get the attention of a broader audience. Disney has it completely backwards in that regard. It's a simple concept they cannot seem to grasp, but perhaps someone else could.

In order to truly save Star Wars. You cannot selectively choose Obi Wan Kenobi, Solo, Mandalorian Season 3, etc... You must make it so that it is fair regardless of the show. This mean The Clone Wars animated series as well because Dave Filoni contradicted a shit ton of lore from EU. Not to mention ruining characters like Quinlan Vos. Star Wars need to set an order. This mean that the new writers should read/watch the previous authors work so they understand the characters and lore. If this isn't done then is pointless even if you cherry pick the poorly written shows/movies. Somebody newer is going to writes/directs however he/she wants to because there is not any check and balances. Those writers/directors will probably going to fuck it all up just because they want to tell "their" vision of their story which does not have anything to do with the lore and continuity of Star Wars. By the way, George Lucas even care about EU. He did read some of the comics not all but some. Aayla Secura, Coruscants, Jedi Code and many more. He make a strict guideline, Vader and Obi Wan didn't meet each other until their fateful duel onboard the Death Star. Writers/Directors making such movie should adhere to it. Right now Disney couldn't give a crap about Star Wars so they just hired any talentless morons to direct their parody. The movies tell us very little of both and nothing breaks, if George's designers'd had to draw something themselves. Kept the franchise going? Sure, but that's a cash grab, though - like the conveyor-belt streaming shows. The difference is, that all people can access movie content with minimal effort - you suggested, that 6 year olds should "just" read around 500 books and put the pieces together in their heads... That's not a reasonable ask. That wasn't my cinematic experience, though. Blinking lights apparently do not shut of my brain, I still heard what was being said - but it occurs to me, that a lot of people were too busy riding the hate train, and THEIR brains actually shut down, so much, that they completely missed the (hidden) story, and are still drowning in their frustrated self-imposed exile now 8 years later. I’m a fan of all the Star Wars eras I love the prequels I love the originals I love the sequels but the sequels definitely have there faults and definitely could of been better I love all the Star Wars shows apart from book of boba fett the 2d clone wars that’s thankfully not canon anymore and Mandalorian session 3 those shows were disappointing everything else is perfect in my opinion but I don’t think it’s fair to erase the movies or shows that did bad. there will always be someone who loves those and wants them to stay there so I think if they wanted to restart they could say everything they had done is not canon anymore and it takes place in another timeline like in legends but it would be called something different. This would be a win win because there keeping the media for people who enjoyed it so everyone can have their own timeline of Star Wars. Everyone’s timeline is different because everyone has their own head cannon and there perfect story in there head. They could do a reboot if they wanted they could make the sequels again but plan it this time and have one writer working on it one person one vision! And then continue things that are working if they don’t work try new things until it does work!

@@philippeamon7271 An example of a problem with the Sequel trilogy is the reintroduction of Emperor Palpatine in 'The Rise of Skywalker' as the problem in which it causes is that Anakin has always been the chosen one (George Lucas confirmed that he is) and was said to bring balance to the force, which he did when Luke helped convince him to sacrifice himself on the death star to stop Palpatine, but if he never destroyed Palpatine, he would have never brought balance to the force, thus not being the chosen one and in fact making Rey, thus chosen one which diminishes the impact of the Skywalkers family and in order for them to try damage control the many problems they have created they made Rey call herself a Skywalker despite not actually being a blood relative. I hope this gives a small idea of the 100s of problems they created.

But it makes sense for Luke to get in trouble with the force whip, picking up the red lightdagger, and realising what happened to him, when he was fighting with Anakin's lightsaber. But Emperor Gangrene is different. That only happens because Rey needed a false enemy, to "prove" how much of a hero she is. Like the Hosnian Cataclysm. Yeah, Anakin were the chosen one - BECAUSE of the Prophecy! (and from Lucas' perspective, well, he wanted to close and kill the space fantasy, so he could be the only Rey Lamewalker, so yeah, he'd like to pretend that he had never said anything about the Whills of the Force. Too late!) So even though it's real, it was created entirely by mortal Jedi, and therefore, it is a mortal Prophecy, not as set in stone eternal, as the Whills. In terms of bringing balance to the Force, Lucas stuck to the PC family-friendly answer: "kill bad man". That's more of a catalyst, though. Like Obi-Wan said: "Yes, it partially does control your actions! But it also obeys your commands!" He is describing how Jedi perceive and use the Force... multiple choices, conducted by over a thousand Jedi all the time for a thousand generations. Creating grooves, or paths of least resistance, for the Force to operate in. The Whills are, as a minimum sentient, but they may not realise how they are being led by the Jedi. They will however realise, once there is no longer anybody, at the other end of their leash. They start to move naturally again. Creating an interference pattern (probably), and where the highest wave meets the highest wave, we get the Dyad, and progressively smaller Demyads on either side of it. Why do you keep trying to kill the Skywalkers, when you complained about them being killed? Be consistent! "No one's ever really gone!"... Taste the word. Sky Walker, a person that walks in the sky. A biblically accurate angel summon avatar, that Rey's going to invent, because of Luke's Simulacrum thing. She'll make a Kylo for herself, as a dildo, but Ben, Luke and Leia will become available on the public marketplace. And the reason why, is because she threatens the galaxy, with her desire to be a hero - she needs to die in a helpful way, so she can still be the hero. And therefore, she will turn herself into a summon avatar spell, too. So yeah. she (will be)'s a Skywalker. In the same way that Rey Palpatine, is a Palpatine - it was never by blood, but by her actions. It's only because she wanted to be the hero, that she ends up regretting her choice of siding with Emperor Gangrene, and decides to fix her shit, go back in time on Tatooine, and confirm with her younger self, that yes, the timeline has been corrected, she declares herself Skywalker, now. Does that help? Anything else?

Vader can be overwhelmed, but each time he is defeated it takes away from his final defeat at the hands of Luke Skywalker. SW:TFU takes this to a whole another level where not only Vader is beaten, but Palpatine is beaten too right after. What is the story? Star Wars or atleast the Galactic Empire ends right there, except a major deus ex machina happens and Kota convinces Starkiller to not kill the person, who's death could change the entire galaxy... It is just stupid, at least the royal guards and stormtroopers should have been to the ones to stop Starkiller, but that is only band aid to a bad wound.

This video was alright until you started to spread the lie that disney Star Wars has feminist agendas. I may not like some of the new content but there is nothing to suggest that “woke” was the reason the sequels were bad. Especially when there is so much evidence debunking this. The biggest one being the Steele Wars interview that everyone ignores when Kennedy says that she had no idea the force is female shirt was controversial and in her eyes the force is for everyone. Hell in the last jedi men are shown doing capable things on screen Luke is shown saving everyone at the end. Finn (The man) defeats and stands above Phasma (The Woman) Kylo Ren manages to outsmart Snoke and kill him rule of two style and Poe leads everyone at the end (Even if it took a horrendous subplot to get us there.) Speaking of Holdo I guarantee you if she was a man then she would get the same amount of hate same with Rey and Rose which brings me into my next points. Rey being a female Jedi protagonist was in George Lucas’s notes so thats why she is female. If Rey was male in Georges outline then Rey would be male in Disneys trilogy. Even then people would still be calling Rey a Gary stu because of JJ Abram’s misunderstanding of the force which everyone ignores in order to promote this garbage theory also ignoring the fact that Kennedy did not write any of the sequel films. Btw I almost forgot to mention that Finn and Rose being diveristy chevk boxes is deconfirmed by behind the scenes looks. For Rose its in the art of the last jedi book where its stated that Rian Johnson had no race in mind for her and that people of all colors auditioned for the role before Kelly Tran was picked. Hell she was created at the last minute as he found that Poe didnt challenge Finns character enough. For Finn I saw on the wookiepedia page that Tom Holland was considered for the part of Finn and concept art shows him as caucasian. Bottom line anyone who says that Disney Star Wars has a “political agenda” is clearly either lying or has not done their research like I have. If they did they would see that they have been wrong all this time. With that I rest my case.

I'm not trying to put it down to woke agenda. The writing was awful. JJ Abrams didnt come up with an origional first film. He just copied and pasted things from the OT trilogy. Ryan johnson was not an action director/writer he is a crime writer with his previous work being Knives out, that's why he trys subverting audiences as it bled into his work. Its also no secret that writers put considerably less work into making female characters relatable and good, no fault of the actors. Finn was my fav character from the sequels but got sidelined after Ryan's film and put JJ Abrams in a corner. My intent is never to say its wokeness was the reason, its entirely writing. Arcane is woke but is a favourite show in my books, wokeness is just comonly associated with putting the story/writing on the backfoot in place for intersection of hot political topics. Its also hard to convey an opinion on the Internet without the chance it comes off differently to others. I hope this clarify my position.

Disney didn't kill it. Star Wars fan boys killed it. The best scene ever that summed it all up, was the one scene fan boys just didn't get. When Luke threw the lightsaber over his shoulder... it was Lucas wiping his hands of the whole mess because his point was completely lost on you. You guys just didn't get it. It wasn't about the color of your light sabers, or mitichlorians, or dressing up as the 501st StormTroopers to go to a CON, or writing spin off pulp fiction, or collecting crap plastic dolls still in their bubble plastic packaging. It was a movie that came out of the anti-war 1960's Hippies against the VIetnam war, about a grassroot resistance against a Republic subverted to an Empire because.. what else could a Republic become but an Evil Empire... it's in it's very DNA. Throw in a stolen trench run from another film, and that's it. That's Star Wars in a nut shell for you. All the rest was milking it out because you guys demanded more, until it was an exhausted dead carcass.
