Hello Kufre, one more question, what do you mean when you say the fish will grow 5 times better? Is it that the fish will convert the feed into weight gain 5 times faster? So with the RAS/WAS will the fish reach target weight, for example 1 kg target weight, in 3 months instead of 15 months? Thanks.

I have a somewhat simpler system, for those with no electricity available nearby. I have a container, lower than the water level of the tank. This container has a water tight lid, the water flows from tank through the bottom of the container naturally with a pipe three inches from the top. The container has stones sponges and filter membrane. A pipe from the side of the container as low possible to another container with more stones and filter membrane. In this container I have four solar powered pumps none bigger and two inches in size. I have clear water always. Make sure that the water in the first container is overflowing before putting the lid on, thus avoiding air locks .

Hello Fish Academy, My family has been into catfish farming for almost 2 years now and is about to expand, based in Port Harcourt. However, I'm outside the country. I would like to set up RAS, perhaps using local biomedia (shells for example), for the farm. The capacity of tanks are currently 15,000 litres and current amount of fish is ~4,000. Is this something you could do or direct us to someone who could? I am especially interested in the electricity implications and possible solutions.
