Just pulled the Solo out after more than 2 years and works fine gets sats just like it use too...with your pizza box gps mod Thanx for the vid, didn't know about the esc/motor test

I feel bad trying to sell my Solo but the batteries are killing me I bought some and a year later they rapidly deplete they take hours to charge but deplete in sub 60 seconds. I'm now looking at a Mavic 3 Classic or a Mavic 3 Pro. I was looking at the battery mod but the cost of buying a LiPo Charger and 4 Batteries all to find that they don't fit neatly in my 3DR backpack would just annoy me. and 3D printing my own Battery Cap so it doesn't look like a "Franken Drone" would take far more time then I want to put into this anymore.

I have a bone stock solo and I'm trying to update it to open solo. I can connect to solo with solex, but it will only load parameters to 10%. I have to then reboot the solo and it will reconnect and finish loading parameters. What's going on here? I don't want to get hung up halfway through the update to open solo if I'm having trouble connecting. Please advise.

I did not make the switch to open solo I stayed on 2.4.2 this is something you will have to discuss with the group on Facebook

I thought I needed opensolo to run solex. So if don't need opensolo to run solex, whats the benefit to going to opensolo?

My suggestion at this point in time is buy something A little more relevant. Jumping into the 3-D R solo at this stage would be a massive learning curve

@@andrewfrost1680 Yes Andrew, However you'll find I am probably the deepest source of knowledge on the 3-D R at this point so though you ask a simple question now when you realize how many videos I have out there pertaining to the solo and how many mods I've created for this drone for everyone I will see you back and here again to ask another question. What I need you to understand is that I walked away from this drone a year ago and I haven't looked back since. Good luck to you

@@andrewfrost1680 You have to worry about upgrading your GPS now, Installing open solo 4.0, Upgrading your Wi-Fi cards, Learning how to install a 3rd party Gimble to run newer cameras..... The list goes on my friend so Like I said only go down this road if you have money to work with and a lot of frustration stress time on your hands

@@andrewfrost1680 Oh and your stock battery is 7 years old going on 8 years old it's no good you need to build a battery mod If you want to fly without worrying about your drone just randomly falling out of the sky From battery failure there are no new solo batteries made every battery ever produced is from 2015
