Poise isnt all useless. It dictates how much your hyper armor can tank through hits without being staggered. They go hand in hand.

They essentially made it a slightly better version of Dark Souls 3 poise. I find it hilarious how people wanted DS1 poise to return in ER, but when we actually got it, it turned out to be a nightmare and got nerfed into the ground

Its also really important to see how many follow up atacks it will take to stagger on certain weapons. Being able to tank the second R1 of certain weapons can make all the difference. Tho tbh it would be better and easier to balance if stun was dependant only on the weapon class.

I think there is way too many issues ATM to even have delusions of "the DLC fixing stuff". Glitches/tech aside some aspects of the multiplayer just... don't work. The bloody fingers can LITERALLY remove you from the invasion area and boot you out of the invasion. Or they can spawn you inside terrain. Netcode issues somehow seem worse than even in prior DS games. Weapon balance is out of whack. Spells are infuriating to fight if you have to contend with more than one mage. It is really hard to farm some consumable materials, or you literally CANNOT farm some ( Starlight Shards ). Low level invasions are hella toxic, because twinking in this game is completely out of control. 3vs1 invasions are incredibly punishing for new players and quickly discourage those who do not have a stomach for it. Taunter's Tongue current inplementation is... a joke really. Some weapon types with good poise are just idiotic in terms of what you can tank and still retaliate. But the worst thing is that themeta stuff is really... META... Trying to play with some dumbo funny/meme setup is so f*cking hard if the enemy has a good weapon setup. Seeing the same bloody people in invasions also gets so tiresome. A mage, a PSS/PSSS and one guy with running attack weapon is in every single competent gank. How many times can you win/loose against that shit without feeling bored out of your ass.

Well said. ER cannot be salvaged because it was 100% designed as a mostly single-player one-and-done exploration experience first and foremost. What we lack is an ip friendly to the grand style of roleplaying that DS1-2 dev teams clearly loved. Grant us a new ip... grant us a NEW IP!

Wtf are you talking about with this fact-free rambling? The issues with ER's pvp can easily be fixed. ER isn't designed to be one and done either. It has a lot of replayability, arguably more than the other games. Also, the 'grand style' of role-playing is just as significant in ER, if not more. Pvp isn't intrinsic to any of that. It never has been in any of these games.

I mean its 2 years later and im still finding new stuff making new builds. Like theres 9 bosses or something like that necessary to beat the game but there 163 bosses total. You know I seriously wonder if I should just make the switch to PS5 since the Lat issue on PC is really bad, whenever Elden Ring has good connection with the host and phantoms I really do generally have a good time. Great video as always Informercial, also that build looks fun lol.

I've been thinking it too, only because there's so much hate expressed for PC's connectivity & playerbase size. I've TT hosted on PC several times and got good, non-laggy invaders. I'm also just not buying a whole game and a PS+ subscription for some PVP in what will be a dying game 1-2 months after the DLC comes out.

@@ianwilliams2632 It depends on how long you'll be playing games. If more games like Elden Ring come out getting a console will return your investment in the long run. Also I don't think the PvP will die in 2 months. It will likely last about a year depending on what gear the DLC provides. If the gear is really good, and fun, the PvP will likely last until 2026. If the gear is not satisfying to most players the PvP will go on probably for no more than about 6 months just on the new environment for playing in. But even then if Fromsoft releases another game with Soulslike PvP anyone with a console already will be prepared for that. Not that consoles are for everyone. Some people play Souls PvP very little. Getting a console would not benefit them as much in that regard. I personally play Elden Ring a lot so I'm committed. I play very few other games. I'll probably be near the last one out when the PvP truly dies.

Definitely don’t buy a whole ps5 just for Elden ring, but if ya like gaming and want a more casual experience console is great and there’s a ton of good free games on PlayStation

​@ianwilliams2632 I don't think you are correct at all. I still hop on dark souls 2 or 3 and get instant invasions and arena matches. Elden ring pvp will be alive for a long long time. Probably going healthy for 2-3 years. And even after that it won't be dead. Yall are all doom and gloom. Also I play exclusively on pc and only about 1 out of 10 matches or invasions are laggy. Pretty much only if I invade or get invaded by a Chinese player or someone from Christmas islands. Every where else seems fine other than the odd wifi warrior. I think this is just the classic affect of people remembering the bad more than the good.

the dlc will be dropping many s tier pvp weapons, spells, and weapon arts. chances are people will think it ruined. also Bloodborne 2 HAS to be what's next, especially since it's exact gameplay hasn't been represented in newer titles compared to how they (somewhat) imitated Sekiro's stagger into Elden Ring.

You know I think latency and desync can be pretty frustrating in invasions, but when people are lagging like the host at the 4:00 you can’t help but just laugh because it’s so ridiculous 😂
