His admin encouraged black families to come to the cities where they would get a place to live and financial help for everything. If Black men didn't want to come, Black women were encouraged to come anyway and bring their children. The democrats could make promises, and keep them on this new plantation. The Blacks thought they had the better end of the deal for some time. They were easier to control through organizers, and financial assistance programs. The dems told the Blacks not to trust the Repubs because they were racist and they'd lynch them and kill their children. Lots of propaganda was used to sear into the minds of these people that their only hope was the dem party, their saviors. This wasn't true because it was the Democrats who were the party of racism. They were the ones who created the clan and lynching. Even when prominent clan members were in the house and senate and some thought LBJ was also a member, Blacks voted for democrats. Traditionally, from the time Blacks moved into the crowded cities, they relied on word of mouth to get news, especially political news. They were easily controlled by community organizers. At first things seemed well for most, but over time unkept promises took their toll.

It has been forgotten that southern Democrats fought against civil rights and northern Republicans fought for them. There are also people who haven’t kept up with how parties changed over the years. My father died in 2022 at age 100. He voted for Democrats his whole life. He was anti-Black and it bothered him that Obama was the choice in 2008. Dad firmly believed that Democrats were for the “little” people and Republicans were all rich bankers. He never swayed from that belief. If one would discuss the platforms of each party, he aligned with the conservative views of the Republicans, but was unchanged in his beliefs and continued voting for the leftist platform.
