I work in the automotive industry. Honest sales people can't compete with a liar. Weak People want to be told what they want to hear, not the truth. When I was 16 yrs old back in the 70's my Dads salesman was leaving we had a car lot . I remember he called me in the office and told me that I was his new salesman.I wasn't happy about the promotion I liked detailing the cars. I will never forget when he gave me the news he told me by the time this is over you will know more about people than a seasoned lawyer. Of course it meant nothing to me at 16 but now looking back it was priceless.

Mr. Sowell is so correct. Why do we listen to and vote for liars, they pander to our ignorance and greed. We all expect for the government to take care of our wants/needs/desires. They say social justice, how can social justice correct our demands? I believe that we need to plan for the future and not just our immediate needs. Most people are not taught to delay our gratification and develop a plan for our future, only the short term.

I used to be impressed by this man's knowledge. Until I started fact-checking him. Firstly he's talking about people who lie - without mentioning Trump once. Now I don't know exactly when this was filmed, but it seems to be more recent. And if lowering taxes actually led to more revenue, why didn't it work with Trump's tax cuts? Why didn't it work with the Bush tax cuts? Why didn't it work with Reagan's tax cuts? Under all plans revenues dropped and deficits increased. Just check the math. Reagan and his administration were smart enough to recognize this and reversed course, raising taxes. But most conservative administrations still believe in the don't tax the rich, so-called trickle-down economy. Obama raised taxes and if you look at the deficits for his last four years they we're much less than his first four. Clinton raised taxes and he was the last president to have a budget surplus.
