Why do baby chimpanzees have a tuft of white hair?

Baby chimpanzees have a tuft of white hair on their backside that disappears when they reach adolescence.
The white tuft helps other chimps visually identify that the infant is still young and helpless.
Basically it means the young ones get away with anything🤣
