To be fair when you're dealing with a group of people there are always going to be people with different tastes, values and conflicting opinions. The people who wanted the darker and gritter Zelda aren't necessarily the same people who didn't like TP, those fans may have been silently happy that they got the Zelda they were asking for. In most cases the online complaints are done by a vocal minority with differing opinions to the majority.

The problem with nintendo is that they make terrible hardware and since the exclusives have been lacking especially in quantity lately people are generally annoyed with nintendo. The ps5 has less exclusives than the Switch however it runs games a lot better in general. The switch also kind of feels like a worst of both worlds situation. As a handheld console it‘s a big step down from the Ds line and as a home console it‘s worse than the products from competitor companies that came out almost a decade earlier.

@@crisp2709 when it launched it wasn’t that far off, after all we got Doom 2016 the same year the Switch launched and at the time it was worth the sacrifice to have a slightly worse looking version for portability, as long as the Switch 2 is around Xbox Series S power level docked and 1080 P handheld I think it’ll be fine

I’m excited for the switch two, just cause i’m really hoping it’s running better stuff. Only worries i have are that it might only be running slightly better hardware, and that the new joycons will be prone to breaking more often. The joycons hanging on by a little, thin plug, just stresses be out a bit cause it looks like it could snap with the slightest bit of pressure, or it will take easy damage with the first month of taking them on and off the switch.

The joycons are held on by powerful magnets, not the little connector. It's a huge upgrade that will last longer and feel tighter than the old rails.

The only thing I ask, is for Nintendo to make it more easily accessible to play previous/older games more easily without ristrictions or leaving games out to the point where they cannot ever be player unless you pirate it. Cause paying for the same game but on a different console is just.. absurd with how more expensive games have become over the last years. Plus allowing all games cloud save storage attached to your account to not have the FEAR of losing your game saves, similar to PlayStation and Xbox I think? (Don't own those two but I know game saves are attached to your account). Not allowing it on games like Pokemon where people spend hundredths of HOURS and then to lose it when you Switch breaks.. people are able to cheat and hack no matter what restrictions of cloud saves Nintendo puts on these games.

People have been speculating this for the past 5 to 6 years, and as of recently, leaks and rumors have been at their highest, as someone who evaded the leaks CONSTANTLY because I simply go by the "I'll believe it when I see it" law, the Switch 2 looks damn near what I expected it to and that is perfectly fine. I honestly didn't think Ring Fit would be incompatible, until I remembered the Ring was designed for Switch 1 joycons. They would need to either resell the game with the Switch 2 ring or sell a separate Switch 2 ring by itself. So Labo and Ring Fit were both designed with Switch 1 hardware size meaning they aren't compatible in their current states

Well the PS5 plays previous generation games. Also the PS5 library is a lot bigger than the Switch library is. Sure it has less exclusives than the Switch but all the Switch can run are exclusives. Run any big game released in the last decade on that system and it basically just gives out.

This is exactly what we wanted. A switch that's just better than the switch. I have my doubts that it will sell as well as the first one, since there is nothing especially new or eye catching about it, and the original sold _amazing,_ but it is still very welcome to most people. I imagine whoever is upset is a small minority who were looking forward the the weird Nintendo spin and were let down that it wasn't there. But they are very much the minority.

I think that a lot of the negative backlash I've seen comes from the thought process that Nintendo is losing their creative drive and are following in Sony's and Microsoft's footsteps of just making the same console again but better. Whether that fear is legitimate or not is up to you to decide, though I think it's far too early to make that call since Switch 2 feels like a timely followup to the original now that portable hardware has cemented itself as the in vogue tech trend of recent years. Now if we get a Switch 3 or God forbid a Switch 4, then we can talk about Nintendo being in a creative rut with their hardware.

My older sibling is so upset that it's a better switch instead of something really innovative. I just don't get it. Why would they make something brand new after they made the perfect console? They also hate the name, but why do they care so much that its not called the "Super Switch"?

They had to avoid the confusion of the Wii U. Naming it switch 2 was the smartest choice. Feels like they're making all the right choices.

I find it hilarious that they are complaining about the joy-con colors when there's probably going to be other options including alternate ones you can buy LIKE ANY OTHER CONSOLE. And why is it that the improved version of the Switch is getting hate, yet the DOWNGRADE of it got little clapback(I am referring to the Switch Lite). Personally I'm not making a big fuss over the Switch 2 until we see more of what it might have in store. Though on a side not, I can understand why some fans would be a bit upset, as Nintendo has always done something a bit different with each console released. However a point I'd like to make is that this kind of thing is silly, as the SNES is literally the NES with better graphics and processing and more buttons on the controller. I think in some cases this "hate" is the hasty fear that Nintendo is just rereleasing their modern system just as Sony or Xbox are doing with their consoles. But let's not jump the gun guys. Let 'em cook, they might have a cool surprise in store for the Switch 2(like maybe adding 3D function like what the had for the 3DS).

It's actually a mostly consistent pattern of alternating new console and simple upgrade. SNES, Gameboy Color, 3ds, new 3ds, Wii U. These were very similar to the previous, with more power and a new gimmick. The Switch 2 can use the joycon as a mouse, so it even has a gimmick.

KZbinrs and such are incentivized to be pessimistic and dramatic. The algorithms push this stuff and artificially inflate the narrative. I guarantee most people who would buy a Switch 2 aren't even paying attention to this news.

I don't read leaks, so naturally I didn't believe it. I thought Nintendo was going to give us an entirely new console with a different gimmick, but instead it's an upgrade of a console I already own (like the Xbox series consoles). Not mad, the NS2 looks great. I'm just disappointed at the lack of creativity these days. Edit: I don't read news either, apparently. I'm out here living under rocks rn.

Honestly wish I could stay under a rock lol They are hiding a couple things in the trailer but for me it's more important to have creative games than a sudden new way to play. Tho I wouldn't mind a small gimmick or two. I think it's just hard to innovate more right now on the hardware side except "make it better"

I'm most likely not gonna get it cause it's a console, and consoles tend to be replaced in terms of software and compatibility for newer games. Like, Activision could drop 10 different call of duties in the next few years and my PC or PC handheld would still be able to play that shit.
