EP 125: In this episode we open up the podcast by taking a conflict style assessment quiz to find out how we all tend to handle conflict in relationships! Try to guess who got the worst style… The girls then go on to point out who is the “SASSIEST” man at the table and if the guys believe they are sassy men. We also talk about if we think “soft launching” is cool or overrated for couples to do…some of us get a little more passionate in this conversation than others… We wrap up the podcast by finding out what was the guys fastest time they’ve “finished” doing “the deed”... HOPE YA’LL ENJOY!!!!

It's so interesting but lowkey upsetting that people think AAVE "is just how everyone talks." Yeah, everyone talks like that, but where do you think it comes from ??? It comes from black culture, and everyone adopts it without recognizing its origin.

They say MOST women and MOST men. Which is true at the end of the day. But they also said sometimes it can switch and they’re not bashing anyone for being one or the other. Men can be emotion based, women can be logically based. They’re not saying it’s not possible, they’re just saying what’s the most common
@user-rb7yq9ng5r

I was literally just thinking that, so when they talk about a guy’s opinion they call it logic, but when they’re referring to a woman’s opinion it’s based on emotion, which is such a misogynistic way of viewing arguments in relationships. I love them, but this was not it.

As a Hispanic who grew up in an urban area. Aave or code whatever tf is legit but not only simplified from the “hood” most people in urban areas speak that way. Just like how people on suburban areas speak a certain way. It’s dialect. If you grew up in an urban area you would speak differently than someone that grew up in the suburbs. Because of social norms speaking in your “white” voice is more “professional” and more accepted for customer service. I get what they were trying to say here but it’s not only the hood and not everyone just speaks that way. Loved the podcast, bye!

I think christine comment on aave was lowkey inappropriate bc it’s not only people who talk from the hood. You don’t have to be from the hood to speak like that it’s just more comfortable to speak to other black people in that manner. It’s the same with other cultures too as well. The way people speak to their own ethnicity versus people outside their own ethnicity is so different. I wish she hasn’t said the hood. I think a different example should have been used. Also if you deem it to be inappropriate to say let’s not say it.
@Yahir_1207
@Yahir_1207 Жыл бұрын
She said she didn’t want to say it, but she brought it up because it would make it easier to understand what she was trying to say. If someone doesn’t understand or doesn’t know what AAVE is, you could say it’s more of “hood” slang and they’ll immediately know what you’re talking about. She also said it’s not correct but it’s easier to understand that way for some people. She’s not saying AAVE is a hood dialect, just that influences of AAVE are found in the hood. Which is true.
