I really struggle with feeling like my life is completely pointless. God saved me from suicidal nihilism but i still have such a hard time believing I'm valuable at all. Most days i just wish my life would end so i could be with God now. I don't know how to have joy in being alive.

God is not deficient but at the same time he needs to be glorified and to satisfy this need he created the universe and the Man. How is it not a self-refuting contradiction?

@Chumazik777 I think " need" is not the word. He needs nothing. Glorifying God is for us. We just don't know how good it is until we do it. I have to believe He makes zero mistakes and only does perfect things. I change my mind to match His. It gives me joy to serve God. When I do I'm joyful, when I don't I'm upset.

@@briankeitheldridge if glorifying is for us then it can not be used as an explanation for creation, does it? Before the creation only God, perfect, self-sufficient being exists in the state of perfect harmony and bliss. Why would such being create anything which by definition is going to be less perfect than himself? Such an act seems non-rational and random. I am very curious how believers reconcile such a glaring contradiction.

I, for one, am elated that He decided to share Himself and His incredible universe and creative power AND eternity with me by creating me. He was perfectly content before creating the universe and the angels and us, NOT deficient or lonely in any way. So, now, billions of us get to spend eternity loving and worshiping Him, and His incredible, humble, loving Son and Spirit, so it’s a win-win for His creatures to exist and have this eternal privilege. I hope you know and love Him too!

⁠@@Chumazik777. Bottom line I think it’s simply because He wanted to and honestly who are us to question His decisions? Even if He explained all the details of the why and how we wouldn’t be able to begin to comprehend . In the book of Job when Job demands an answer from God for his sufferings God simply asks Job where Job was in the beginning of the creation or if Job knew all the complexities of nature. If He, from an unknown motive, decides we only eat rocks from now on, you bet the whole 8 billion people alive will crave and only be able to eat rocks because He is that almighty. Thank God that God is not wicked. I think that Him being a trinity He knows the best there is out there is to be in a perfect loving relationship and He decided to share it with us through Jesus Christ. Why? Because He wanted to. Haven’t you ever received or wanted to gift someone you love just because you want to make them happy and in return to be happy seeing them being happy? Now imagine an all knowing, all powerful, all loving God. My personal opinion is that even with all eternity we will never fully understand God and that’s one of the beauty of it: to be eternally surprised and satisfied in getting to know Him more and more, layers and layers of love, peace and glory everyday and forevermore. I’m excited to share this joy with my family and friends and with you too my brother/sister in Christ! (Edited because I wrote “God is not that wicked” lol sorry God)

Believers have no sense of responsibility, or standards. Theologians grant each other doctorates, as if, equal to a science. It is a, have it both ways world, for the believers. It is an authoritarian, fascist world which says: "My sheep hear My voice".
