Absolutely stunning jumbo koi. The size and colours are nothing short of spectacular. I'm very impressed at the ease of which the breeders can pick up and move koi of that size so easily. Must take years of practice. 👍🏻 I would love to see some the filtration systems and how they work that the breeders use in their fish houses.

Hi buddy! Good question 🙋🏻‍♂️ they inspect the fish daily but it’s easier to keep koi health in a natural environment that a closed pond system. Koi have great immune system, after being harvest they always get a 24-48 hour treatment for parasites.

Hello, I got a couple of questions if you don't mind, looking into getting a koi pool pond around 1100 gallons. What do you think of this setup, 1100gallon pool oase filtoclear 5200 filter Aqua max eco classic 2700 pump Air max pond air 4 aeration kit some 2' kingfree tubing Colombo aqua test lab. Also do you think the aqua max eco classic 2700 pump is too much for a 1100 gallon pond with the filtoclear filter? Planning on getting around 5 young koi to begin with. Finally, What products should I get to put on my filter media to eliminate nitrate and emmonia levels?

I really enjoyed the video but I'm confused on one point. You said that the extremes in weather and temperature help to grow the koi very large. But then you seem to indicate that they take them indoors for the winter, because you said that they release them into the ponds in the spring starting with the smallest ones and getting up to the biggest ones. Do they leave the koi in the mud ponds the full calendar year?

Good question: it makes them a bit dizzy. This gives the breeder the chance to pick up to koi nice and easily

The chance of a koi getting sick in the Mudpond is very minimal. If fish are not doing well, the breeder will catch it and treat it.
