I'm an Arsenal fan and I want them to neat Man City to the league so badly after Haaland's bullshit. Rodri's injury is definitely good for us. But I can't celebrate it. He's just a guy at the end of the day, and I 100% agree with him that players are being overworked. It feels like there's something to watch basically every 3 days and while that's great as a spectator, im already starting to worry if it's not too much, and the season just started. You talk about a kid like Yamal but dont forget the likes of Bellingham that have so much drive and desire to the point they might drive themselves into a permanent injury. Saw Bellingham fall on his shoulder in RM's last match and genuinely felt worried for the guy. He's just 21. We love the enthusiasm but hopefully it doesn't ruin someone's life.

As a person that has had 2 acl tears...it isn't wear n tear. It's just an uptick in probability of injury the more you play. I think the reason people are on to Arsenal and not other people who park the bus because Arteta developed into this. He started at Arsenal with free flowing footy, then continued that into 22/23. They came up short playing like that, so the next year he made his defense a little bit better. This year he' reached a new level of defensive intensity and its like every big game Arsenal has, Mikel brings out the low block. Im not saying there is a problem with it, I just think the only reason they catch slack for it is because of how quickly Mikel developed into this.

Arsenal are a really good team, i don`t think anybody is denying that. but football isn`t linear, do they have a team good enough to win yeah probably, but the longer it goes the quicker it will start to fall apart behind the scenes. Players will wanna leave and win something else where. sure a lot of these players don`t support clubs in the same way as fans do, but these pros do know that winning is something that can define their legacy, and it is the fans for better or for worse that define their legacies, and a lot of pros care about their legacies and how they get remembered, and if Arsenal cannot deliver that, agents, fans etc will speak out advice them to leave and win somewhere else. How people talk about Arsenal now, they had the same type of thinking with Poch`s Spurs. they consistently got top four and even made a CL final, and a lot of fans thought that they would keep on improving until they got over the line and won something, but that didn`t happen, sure in hindsight we can say it`s just Spurs, but a lot of people didn`t think like that in the moment, in this moment everything looks promisng for Arsenal, but the important world here is promising.

I think you're spot on, Arsenal have an air of phoniness about them because of their lack of success, despite being so competitive in recent seasons and having such a loud fanbase. For a lot of other clubs in the Prem, and even in Europe, man are looking at Arsenal like: ''Why are you man gassing yourselves up so much? You've won nothing'', so teams don't respect them like that. Until Arsenal make a statement and win something huge, it'll continue to be like that, and their fans don't help their case by acting all high and mighty. You can clearly see why City don't respect Arsenal like that, but I bet you they respect Liverpool, because Liverpool managed to push them to the final day, TWICE, and get to within a point, getting close to a 100 points both times. They managed to win a Premier League on top of City's head, only the second loss for Pep since he came to England. They managed to win the Champions League, and even knock City out of it the year prior. What have Arsenal done? Compared to that, nothing. In Europe, they're even more of a laughing stock, because the constantly talk big and then come up short. To be fair to Arsenal, because their fans are so touchy, I respect how they came out in the game against City in the weekend. Last year's match between the two at the Etihad was boring and cowardly from Arsenal from my perspective, but I thought they were brave and had the upper hand against City on Sunday, and I'm 99% sure they would've won had it stayed 11v11.

Also, we were missing odegaard and merino, played 2 tough away games prior to city (city had home games before this and had an extra rest day), yet city struggled to break us down....side to side passes for 45 min. No arsenal fan said that the yellow was undeserved because that was stupid of trossard to do while on a yellow, but when Oliver casually ignored doku and silva kicking the ball away, do you not expect us to complain regarding the inconsistency. And before you mention doku kicking the ball towards the fk spot, rice was standing near the fk spot, he didn't kick the ball towards rice and by "letter of the law" he wasn't supposed to do it either way.

I’m a neutral in this situation but I believe the ref was correct about the rice yellow and the Trossard yellow. It’s not about kicking the ball away it’s about delaying the restart. Arteta has been brilliant over the last few years and using tactics that bend rules to help Arsenal and so when they get called out for it they can’t complain. The Ref won’t give a yellow every time only when it’s delaying the restart of a game and Arsenal do it for that reason
