Why do passengers board Aircraft from the left side ?? Best Answer ...!!!

Why do passengers board Aircraft from the left side only ?
Why not the right side?
Is it because of design of the Aeroplane?
Or because of the design of Airport gates?
Or because of the Civil aviation regulations?
Or does history have some weired connection with this?
Or is it because we have left hand driving system….???

Aircraft can be taxi from left or right . Doors are the same from left side or right side . Right side can be use for loading cargo . Thank you so much .

In B737 for example, The Tiller is on the Left Side, Hence it`s Captains are of responsibility to taxi the airplane :) (i.e. LEFT), In many aircrafts Both sides are capable of Taxing. And Yes, The convention is to use right side for Cargo as the passengers are boarded from the Left. :)

Everything Aviation on all aircraft the cargo doors are on the right side , expect cargo aircraft .

@@sfzr1332 Hii, I think you didn`t understand the motive and subject of the video :) I have mentioned that "IT IS A CONVENTION" also Design philosophy in MANY AIRPLANES. :) If something happens to Captain in that case offcourse the First Officer would be taxing the aircraft to exit the runway, But then in case of B737, The first officer would have to request for Tow Away Vehicle to the Gates. :) As there is no Tiller provided on the right side. First officer can offcourse steer the airplane using Nose wheel steering and Differential Brakes, But in B737 Steering Authority of Tiller is more than Nose wheel steering. :) I hope that clear things up. :)

No, In this case, Sea and Air transportations are different than Land transportation. :)
