What about non violent crime like fraud, cybercrime etc. These offenders often have different profiles to violent criminals like rapists murderers and armed robbers.

Crimes is both a career choice and a choice based on desperation through many different reasons only thing it boils down to is money’ social status is the same as so called honest people I say it that way because no one will ever admit to things they’ve gotten away with especially politicians or people in religion. Money and power are the key’s to success incidentally money = power

I was a drug dealer was 20 years from 02' to 2022 it was dark and evil but a very easy life aside from the anxiety that plagues you when there is murder plots and schemes for your life. Be happy, live normally, and don't obsess over money.

Any times where things got heavy and people tried to hit a lick? In person or burglary? Did you keep a safe? I can only imagine the paranoia aspect from getting pulled over from something as simple as the speed limit to dealing with jack boys that just want to take it.

@@Little_Italy768 Nobody ever tried to jack me but I know of many people who've been robbed for their dope, money, and jewelry, held hostage at gunpoint, kidnapped, extorted, and even murdered. I also know the ones who went out and did these things I always turned a blind eye to it if it didn't involve me I didn't care I only cared about the money however I got wrapped up quickly in the lifestyle all the girls that were always around the partying that never stopped I am very fortunate I am not a drinker or drug user all though I did end up gambling and losing a lot of money well into the millions. I didn't participate in any licks or jack moves to me all of that was considered bad business and unnecessary I tried to stay neutral with as many people as I could so I could continue to make money and avoid death and prison. Yeah, the paranoia and anxiety were real, I still suffer from it to this day after getting raided by the feds looking for guns and drugs. In no way am I boasting or condoning this lifestyle at the end of the day it is not worth it mostly everybody I know is either dead, serving life, or living as a junkie/alcoholic with no purpose.

Monday April 10th, 2023 My friend told me about this crime back in September of 2015. He told me depending on the state, throwing grass clippings in the trash can is considered a "CRIME". These are the 23 states where throwing grass clippings in the trash can is considered a crime. 1: Arkansas 2: Connecticut 3: Delaware 4: Florida 5: Georgia 6: Illinois 7: Indiana 8: Iowa 9: Maryland 10: Massachusetts 11: Michigan 12: Minnesota 13: Nebraska(April-November) 14: New Hampshire 15: New Jersey 16: New York 17: North Carolina 18: Ohio 19: South Carolina 20: South Dakota 21: Vermont 22: West Virginia 23: Wisconsin

Hi Dr Das! M1 here from the US and I'm thinking about pursuing psychiatry, and heavily leaning towards forensics. I appreciate your insightful videos.

It is posited that individuals engage in criminal behavior due to the presence of individualized interests and a fundamental motivation for personal gain. Crimes, regardless of their nature, are often motivated by personal interests, such as the satisfaction derived from eliminating an unfaithful spouse, eliminating an adversary, or gaining financial benefits through the act of killing, robbing a bank or mugging someone on the street. There exists a significant skepticism over the likelihood of criminals engaging in actions devoid of personal incentives. The question at hand pertains to the hypothetical scenario in which it becomes possible to diminish the inclination towards personal gain and satisfaction that individuals may experience in relation to the perpetration of criminal activities. The inquiry at hand is of significant value, necessitating a definitive resolution that remains elusive at present.

A helpful but brief summation of the main theories. Perhaps much crime is multi-factorial? A combination of all those you mentioned. What about white-collar crime...many of these folks are from "privileged" backgrounds? ,
@APsychForSoreMinds
@APsychForSoreMinds 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I think crime is multifactorial. I think white-collar crime is a mixture of opportunity -- people getting away with increasingly bold bits of fraud, and also an inherent lack of ethics. But you're right - these are different types of criminogenic processes.
