You’ve said it all life is exactly the same in the West. No social life, too much taxes, discrimination, loneliness etc but people tend to stick it because where they are coming from has little or nothing to offer. I live and was born in UK 🇬🇧 grew up in Nigeria and came back at the age of 23 but have no intention spending the rest of my life here. All my goals and money is invested back home. When you look at it, it’s all political and modern day slavery all these Western countries their own children are too lazy to work therefore they rely on immigrants then tax so heavily to maintain their own country and in a place like the UK those who are working are the ones providing for the unemployed. So imagine 40% deducted out of your income, your left with 60% then you pay all your bills before you know it you’re left with nothing and this is why people either work 2 jobs or overtime. My advice as I stated earlier work hard but don’t burn your bridges make sure you think into the future have investments back home, maintain contacts and try to go back regularly. You can live anywhere in Nigeria once you have the money remember living abroad is a great opportunity but don’t waste it just living a vicious cycle life. Make your money and go back and live like a king.

Taxes dont just pay for health care in Canada. They pay for infrastructure maintenance, schools, unemployment insurance, $10.00 a day subsidized daycare in my province, workers compensation if you get injured, free or subsidized services for the elderly, good public transportation, etc. Every country has its good and bad but because taxes are used to pay for many services in Canada and to maintain a social safety net for everybody, you have less desperation in the population, which leads to more safety and a lower crime rate. A win in my book.

@@euchariaezeudu4264 Thanks. Im amazed when people, especially Americans, dont make the correlation between poverty/no social safety net and high crime rates. I live in Montreal, I pay a lot of taxes, but in my twenties Id be downtown after a concert at 2am and not worry about being mugged or losing my life. I dont worry about my kids being killed when they leave the house. Desperate people do desperate things. Id rather pay taxes than live in a gated community because the poverty is extreme and theres senseless violence all around.

You just brought the other facts to the fore. I will rather have a working security system, good roads, safe society, good schools, good health care and cheap compare to the US than to pay 20% in Nigeria and end up dead while driving on the road and having to pay extra millions for my children to attend good private schools, hospital bills are growing like hell. I will rather pay the tax to get a functional system.

You forget one important fact, immigration is increasing and the economy is not doing so dandy, what that means is those safety nets will get stretched and eventually lead to discomfort among Canadians and you know what that means. Immigrants expecially those from Africa need to start thinking of investment back home just in case. And also having an investment back home means you have incoming income even if you live in Canada.

Is it not better for you to work and get paid and take responsibility for yourself than staying home with your certificate not doing anything. The tax is the same everywhere in all the developed countries. Nigeria is not great because, people don't pay tax even those that are making the money.. After all the tax deductions in Canada, your 100 dollar that you sent home is more than minimum wage that a lot of people earn in Nigeria. Whoever that have the opportunity should explore.

I'm Canadian and I moved to France because Canada is hell for tradespeople like myself. In Canada you work 7 days a week for 12 hours per day for 24 days straight and you get 4 days rest. The salary is hourly and your employer is not required to give you work. So you don't get paid if you don't work. The climate is awfully cold and harsh as well. Furthermore, the job market is very competitive and it's hard to get a job. Meanwhile in France getting a job in the trades (construction) is very easy, the demand is high and the working conditions embarass Canada.

The issue with Vancouver (and Canada) is this: 1.it has become so much expensive while the salaries are so-so 2. More and more people are becoming like robots 3. Talking to strangers is not normal!!! For me coming from Europe (Belgium), this is very strange!!!! 4. Public transport suck!!!! (It is only good enough for people who have never left Canada) 5. The healthcare service is better than the US but is a disaster when compared to Europe… and even to some African countries (I have worked in west Africa for the French goblin the past and believe me…. There u can have access to doctors on the spot.. no wait, no stupid triage systems!!) 6. If you have a kid with a special need (like a daughter of my colleague at work), a city like vanguard just 2 or ..3. Schools for special need children!!! My colleague told me both of those schools love money and quality services are far from their priority!!! But yes, Vancouver, a big city has just 2’of them!!’ How stupid is that! 7. Girls are interested for most of them! 8. People have been raised to get INDEBTED and they are taught to spend, SPEND and Spend!!! The whole North American system is based on debt and banks get rich out of people being in debt!!! I am such in a hurry to fly back to Europe!!!

So I left and moved to the United States until 2014. I now permanently live in the Philippines. I would never go back to Canada for any reason: not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. In the last ten (10) years Canada gone completely down the drain and is currently a North Korea style dictatorship. No freedom, too expensive, very high income tax . . . too depressing. I'm a poor person while I was in Nigeria. If I'm a well to do person back then in Nigeria I won't have traveled to white man country to live. I will just travel to overseas for pleasure only.

The problem is people coming to Canada from a countries who don't know what is hard work. So when they come here and face the hardship then they runaway back to their countries. There are so many immigrants who came here and doing a hard work and made their lives like myself. Today, I have everything which I need and living a comfortable life but I ma not a millionaire because becoming millionaire is not easy. The things I got here believe me I won't be able to get back at my home country. Now everywhere life is tough and jobs are not that easy to get.

I find Vancouver to be hostile. Rent are expensive and overrated (I am in fact Belgian and grew up in France just to give you some context); buying a house is an “insult” (this is why I plan to buy in Europe instead as it is 2-3 times cheaper if I buy in some towns in France or Belgium) and many people in Vancouver seem to be unhappy and frustrated by where their lives has taken them! In regards to the girls here, I found them to be “nice” but in fact, they are just nice on the surface only (if I have to compare it to my experience of girls in France or Belgium). In Vancouver, most girls are very “money oriented” (yes and many of them date “sugar daddies but that is not known outside Canada, right?) and so many look for financial security in a partner than a sane relationship! I am not astonished to see why so many end up being unhappy, depressed suffering in their relationship and above all… end up being alone (and end up using dildos) and regretting their lives years later! After having lived in this place for 8 years (a place which I would leave behind soon hopefully as we are heading back to Europe soon), I am so glad to leave this place for good! Many relationships here are fake and superficial (compared to Europe) And it is a city where sooooo many girls (they pretend they are not) are sooo lonely.. now I am ni longer astonished why dildos sell so well!!! This is why so many (people and Vancouver girls) Here smoke pits and end up being depressed or having lots of mental disorders! Now on top of that, I hate their hospitals where you have to wait for everything (in Belgium that has never existed), and dislike those fake social interactions that many think it is worth something when in fact, it is just superficial-ness, illusion and coldness. I strong believe that Canada is “worth it” but providing that you are thinking of it as a place to pass by, not retire or immigrate for ever! Just have a look at the Canadian healthcare system and how bad it is! kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYS3hY1totmqgcU

The level of coverage depends on what amount you are willing to pay. In all provinces except AB, you pay a certain amount for health insurance that covers doctors visit. Since gynecologist and dentists are specialists, the coverage may or may not cover these. Best to ask and find out what is included in your health insurance plan before you sign up as different plans are available in different provinces.

Canada is a wonderful country but its way hyped more than its actually is. Cost of living is off the roof, people can't even afford to buy a house anymore, most who even buy are house poor, they work all day just to pay mortgage. Majority are living with insane debt, loneliness, cold, subtle racism. Most people just do survival jobs. Now I can list the many wonderful advantages of this beautiful country but it's already known. And Canadians are increasingly getting tired of immigrants and rise in immigration, that in the near future is gonna be another issue. People back home need to wake up and start working with those abroad to fix Nigeria instead of waiting for it to fix itself. Abroad don cast oh e no be like before

This is the issue with Canada and especially all these Democrats run countries UK included. When you take 40% tax from a person's income...you left with 60% for rent and other bills. How much would you have left to save and invest. How long will you save to buy your own house. I just look at Nigerians all wanting to go to Canada. These countries especially Canada just take immigrants in to work them out and make the economy and themselves richer. You'd just keep working for years not much to save and invest cos tax and bills take up almost all your income. Medicare for all is definitely good..thats the only positive side I see about Canada. That is why the US is better. You earn much more and taxes won't take much of your income. You'd be able save well for the future in America
