I've loved working out for years and one of my biggest reasons for it is that it is a great unspoken therapy session. I'm not talking about throwing weights around because I'm mad all the time (occasionally, that does happen but I throw them around with good form and courtesy towards the gym owner and his equipment) Sometimes you're just a little stressed out for no reason, you cant relax because when you try you feel like you're forcing it, or you cant seem to get your head on straight. Working out 10 times out of 10 has lessened if not extinguished those feelings. Sometimes, you just gotta do it. Man wasn't made to sit around and do nothing all day, we were made to be active.

Daaang, joke avalanche in this vid! I’m 36, had a baby 2.5 years ago and the insane stress that followed cause me to lose 60 lbs in a year, so I was down to like 120 lbs last summer. I did not look good, though, since I lost it all too fast and it was stress and lack of sleep related. I started gaining again when I stopped breastfeeding, and one day I looked at myself and was like “I look like crap.” I decided to leave my husband (he was the main cause of stress and has been for about 6 years now) and I wanted to feel good about myself, since my husband was pretty good at making me feel ugly and shitty all the time. I’m losing weight at a healthy pace and challenging myself more and enjoying the definition I am getting from these different workouts. I take the stairs anytime I can (I live on the 5th floor) and my apple watch helps encourage me to close my rings. I’m not ripped, but there is something very satisfying about not looking like a flabby turd anymore.

It’s a weird thing but since the gyms here have been closed since March I’ve been doing a totally different workout and have becoming fitter, healthier and lost some weight....just doing home workouts & running outside everyday. It even cured my insomnia so I guess when things are reopening I won’t need to return to the gym ...because I am my own gym now. 😅

I'm in the same boat. I've been working out under a tree at my local park for the last 3months now using gymnastics rings and homemade equipment. Even made a deadlift setup out of abandoned parts, rocks ect. I love it. For me it doesn't matter what the weight looks like, all I care is that I have to lift it. And really, that's all we need to get fitter and stronger, along with good food.

Gymnastic rings tossed over a tree branch, parralette bars, a few Kettlebells and a Bar at home to hang from. Trained this way for years and when covid hit I didnt miss a beat. I suggest people invest in a few items that can be used regardless of world circumstances or even location really. When I travel my rings can go anywhere and on there own each of these items provides years of quality training. :)

My take on answering the question: The most important thing is that it is fun. Lifting weights is the fun part of getting ripped, eating 4000-5000 calories a day of healthy food is not fun let me tell you that. And being hungry when you are in a 1800 calories a day cut is definitely not fun. Running is fun as well. I also play tennis, which is, yeah you guessed it, fun. Getting ripped is the result of having fun and following a good diet and good rest habits. And well you also have to know what you are doing. Like focusing on compounds for mass and strength and accessories to correct imbalances or grow a muscle that compounds don't hit too well. Eating at a surplus when trying to bulk and eating at a deficit when trying to cut. Hitting your protein goals (1g per lb of body weight). Hitting each muscle twice per week. Getting very good sleep. But while doing that not neglecting cardio. If you are muscular but can't run a mile you are not healthy. I'm not going to lie, all the other benefits do come to play. Yes you will have a lot of energy, yes girls will drool over you, yes your confidence is very high, yes you will fell awesome when you lift a weight that you thought was impossible. But I personally don't care about that. They are side effects. It's all about being healthy. I'm going to die some day so I'm going to live my life to the fullest. And that includes being healthy. Other stuff are very positive and fun extras.

Almost every aspect of your physical and mental health improves with building muscle and losing fat. Been on this journey for about 4 years, finally seeing my abs after being obese most of my life. Now, more than ever, it's a contribution to society to be a shredded strong fuck. Stay strong man!

Another great video!! You actually inspired me to do a full body workout today instead of just legs like I have been doing for the past couple of weeks. Thank You for the well needed laughs too.

Hi! That is a great question, I myself, despite being a personal trainer never put much thought into it. I lived a sedentary lifestyle most of my life and noticed that I was weak, unhealthy and lacked energy everyday. The getting ripped only happened about 5 years later and while it feels great to be ripped I see it as a byproduct of being healthier and stronger 👍it certainly can make you more attractive but I beg people not to use it as a primary focus for engaging in a healthy lifestyle as it doesn't really translate into being more desirable from the eyes of others. That is mostly up to your charisma and personality, I mean, otherwise unattractive people (generally speaking) wouldn't have partners and they actually do because they have other qualities. Anyway, I wish you good luck in your journey and a tip to all of you that want to be healthier, stronger and leaner is that persistence is key. it may take years to achieve your goals but is worth it 👌
