Why do these OLD DEMONS have SO MANY DISLIKES?

I played some REALLY old Geometry Dash demons to see why some of them have so many dislikes. The results were really interesting. Some levels I could definitely see why, but others played perfectly fine.

As a person of 1.4, people loved the easy levels, and disliked the really hard ones. Edit: Straight fly used to be considered impossible and those levels were actually not rated or rated for a short time

To The Grave, Extreme Park and Demon World are all examples of the hardest demons in the game back when they were made, hence their dislike ratios since high difficulty was looked down upon back in the day. To The Grave and Extreme Park are both possible on 60hz so if you wanna properly try them play them on 60hz

Today, the dislikes means how bad the level or the gameplay is, but back in the day, dislikes meant how hard the levels were.

Most of these levels were disliked back in the day when everyone thought they were impossible. they are actually gaining likes now. edit: also straight fly was harder than the mechanics were changed for ship in 2.0 making it easier. the main way to make things hard back in the day was ship

Actually, 69 Machine used to have way more dislikes. Back in 1.7/1.8, it used to sit at almost 50 000 dislikes, so the dislike ratio has gone down with time!

Actually back in 1.9 there were “how to…” songs on newgrounds so you could play levels with similar effect(that were mostly auto versions of main levels), they all were banned unfortunately

Most of these ones were disliked since the difficulty was so absurd at the time for the average players to attempt it. If you wanna try them demons on stream go ahead, we would love it, just make sure that some are indeed possible on 60Hz since many creators were at mobile back then. Lots of old demons are dislike because at the time they had something like a wild jump at the beginning, a secret way, or just something that people didn’t like or just thought was annoying and therefore disliked. (It can also just have some bug in it that cannot be passed with a higher hertz)

I've dislike botted a few of these levels but not as many dislikes as the levels have now, I think the thing is that when people see a level has loads of dislikes it makes them more likely to dislike the level, could be a psychological thing like maybe they think a like will have no significance. So you only need to dislike the levels down to about -200 dislikes and then it will get more and more overtime

Depending on what your monitor refresh rate is what makes some level impossible on gd. On a 60hz phone like a Samsung Galaxy S9 that jump at 37% is possible for the first demon. But since you're on a different refresh rate, its buggy.

For a little bit of context, many players would be unable to complete such hard levels and as a result were put in a massive dislike ratio, specifically because people didn't like them because of their extreme difficulty at the time. I get this info from watching hours of SEA1997 and Stormfly.

ICDX wasn't even a concept back when Demon World was created. ICDX uses Clubstep, which I'm pretty sure was released in 1.6, while DW is like 1.2 because of the ball.

im a 60 hz pc player who uses up arrow, i can confirm that flying is hell at demon world.i have beaten it recently which is nice. It was getting to that point that i can get there in a row... And when i actually got past it, i fluked the whole rest of the level and i beaten it... (oh yeah and i was at 38 demons then)
