all of the shortcomings are forgiven for the sheer beauty of the body and potential of this truck. The plastics are good, the battery compartment is in the right place and a number of tire/wheel choices to choose from + the electronics are cheap enough to swap out to something decent. I'm happy MN came up with it...now I will have to buy it.

Don't do it. No parts availability it has no potential. Just get a competent builders kit and buy a cherokee hard body

I like my crawlers with that low down control. It's why I buy crawlers with that and a drag brake. Can't always have what we want out of the box though, hence upgrades. But it's all fun and learning.

Clearing up some misconceptions.. The body is 1:12. Jeep Cherokees are small. The rear door opens. Mirrors fold inward, this hasn’t been seen on MN Models! Wheels that will fit perfectly are the WPL V1 Wheels. And yes it does need a bigger motor.
@nicka.90737 ай бұрын
Also, regarding the lights, if you hold down the button that toggles the lights there is a hazard light setting. Some sticky tires on these make a noticeable difference, but still could use more power.
@1598hi6 ай бұрын
If you're going to get a bigger motor you'll need a new trans too. Mine blew up after under 6 hours of very gentle use
@OffroadRC_YT6 ай бұрын
@@1598hi This comment was from a while ago but now that i think about it, changing the motor with the stock transmission isn’t good. I changed the motor for my MN99S and the gears got destitute very quickly.
@1598hi6 ай бұрын
@OffroadRC_YT My transmission failure was recent. The thing served it's purpose for me. I didn't want to go off the deep end and spend a ton of time and money building my own custom scale rc before I knew for certain that I would use it CONSTANTLY. Best of luck if you plan to upgrade this thing, not really much out there for upgrade parts it's an unsupported platform. Maybe you can find a metal gear transmission and some tires that aren't so stiff! I didn't have any luck with finding any good shocks, just some injora ones with zero travel and one blew out after a couple hours of run time total. Maybe at least you could paint it up

Hi there from California! So I just had the mn78 out in the yard because I'd say it's one of the best mn models yet. Maybe I received a newer version? Anyhow, thank you as always for the content!
10 ай бұрын
I appreciate your videos, I recently bought one of these, anticipating that it would be bad because it is practically the consensus of the internet reviews but I was in for a big surprise when it arrived. Apparently there is a new version, because the car I received has nothing to do with the one in most of the old videos, mine is blue, but it's a metallic blue and not the solid one, It already comes with the rear lights painted and the modulation and torque are very different from what we can see in the video, it works exactly like the recently launched mn82, which I consider to have very good modulation.
@jitihunt2110 ай бұрын
I agree with you. I've seen some of the latest mn78 videos and it looks like it has enough torque so there's no need to pull the lever very far. minus MN is social media like Instagram, I'm sure if they had Instagram like WPL they would definitely broadcast small updates on MN78. like WPL C74 which has made several updates..

This RC falls into the not really good at any one thing & the question is do you leave it like it is or upgrade it. A lot! So is it worth it? And the funny thing is this is how RC enthusiasts are we buy 500$ RC”s & replace so much on it you have a parts pile of all the original stuff that added to that 500$ price. So not only are you loosing that money you are then buying a bunch of custom upgrades included all the electronics. But this is how it always goes it’s part of RC & we have the freedom to do anything with them we want. And as far as hobbies I’ve been an avid mountain biker for over 25 years & bikes were no different buy a bike replace almost everything. But way more expensive. I learned early to learn to work on your own stuff & learned not to buy cheap stuff & paying more is worth it. Basically get the good stuff & have less to worry about & more time riding. Same for RC especially Crawlers don’t waste your money on cheap unreliable stuff that will cause more down time & less trail/Crawling time. It’s definitely not 1:10 scale but I like it not exactly sure why but if I did get one I think I’d just leave it like it is every RC has its niche & this one is just a cruiser not a crawler. Very light trail RC with an emphasis on Light!

Though I'm not interested in anything smaller that 1/10th, this isn't bad for the money, especially with that decent scale body including interior. I absolutely LOVED my MN99 when I got it. More so than my WPL stuff because it checked off all the boxes for me. So, if it's anything like the MN99/s, everyone will be modding these with ALL the parts. BUT, since there seems to be space limitations with the newly designed skid plate. I wonder how much luck people will have cramming a 370 motor in there with a gearbox and still have a complete interior. Then one has to ask themselves if it's worth the massive investment of time & money to get one running at peak performance. Great beginner/intermediate/scale enthusiasts kit. However, much to be considered. I have also heard there are currently problems with shipping. So people may want to wait a bit longer until they hear some success stories.
