The problem for me is that I grew up in a strict house. I was allowed to talk only when spoken to and I had to play quietly. Now I have a 3yo girl, I often play with her quietly without realising and it takes some time for me to actually start a conversation with her. That's one of the main reasons she's language delayed because I'm 90% of the time with her and I really don't talk much. So I'm here to learn and change so I can help my child as well. Thank you.

I relate to this so much. For me, I live with my in-laws and have always kept to myself, and was very quiet. When my daughter was born, I did everything with her in silence, I regret that so much now as I think back. I've started being intentional with my speech. I've turned into a literal chatterbox so that my baby would speak. She's currently 2 years old and she's doing so much better, she asks for things and says hi etc. I just know that she would have been doing more if I had started talking to her from the time she was born.

I thank God I found this youtube channel. I have a 4 year old son, when he was 2 year old he used to watch youtube kids tv, singing ABC and counting 123 to 10 numbers, learned the basic shapes, he even memorized the solar system. My wife and I were happy about it, but when he was about 2.8 year old we notice something that makes my wife and I sad, sometimes he doesn't respond every time we call his name, now he is already 4 year old and still cannot communicate well and not fluent with his words, although he know the basic words if he want or doesn't like something, basic words like; open, close, off, on, go out, stop, and sometimes singing the 123 to 10 numbers and ABC while crying or having tantrums. I hope this channel can help us more on how to help our son to communicate effectively, thank you as well for the efforts of making all the videos.

Hello. Speech pathologist here. Have you had him evaluated by a speech therapist? I would encourage you to contact your local public school and request an evaluation by their speech therapist. This should be a free service at the public school. Additionally, you could request a referral by his physician to a developmental pediatrician. Good luck.

This was great advice. Thank you so much. I am trying to get my son started with ABA and Speech Therapy but unfortunately just learned we are now on a 7-8 month waitlist for ABA. Praying I find somewhere that can start working with him sooner and that Speech Therapy will be able to start immediately. In the meantime, I greatly appreciate videos like this.

My son had severe hearing loss from 12-23 months until we finally discovered it and got him hear tubes. We noticed he wasn't responding to his name, and since the tubes, he's responding to his name alot more then he did ever before. He's also starting to repeat words and have more social engagement (peek-a-boo, repeats gestures from a song like head, shoulders, knees and toes.) But we still see some delays as far as he doesn't point as much as he use to, instead he reaches out his hand and does a "grabbing" motion for things he wants. He also doesn't always follow a point from us, but we have managed to teach him sign language which he's improving on. Joint attention isn't great yet either, especially during play, but it's better when he's eating and wants more food from me. In your opinion, are some of the delays we've been seeing with him (language-wise) normal for children who've suffered hearing loss? He does seem to be making progress in his areas of speech (he knows about 40ish words now), and totally up to date on his fine and gross motors skills. Any idea on why some of the language areas are delayed???

My son (18 month) isn’t talking and doesn’t respond to his name. However, he will perk up immediately if he hears music or if I say words of his favorite books. Does he have selective hearing? Any suggestions?

How long does it take for a child to learn their name? Ours doesn't respond when called, she's 22 months. But hears the tv just fine
@rickyfredy10 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you for sharing the method, I want to apply it with my child. But I not getting when u give example with cat, there is reward and consequence, but when bring to the sample asking kids open door, its never mention how its relate with reward n konsequence. Just guide them to do from behind?
