What a great idea going for a walk to appreciate the warmth inside. My daughter hates the heating and always turns it off. Her Dad always has the heating on, and we find it too much. I remember all the old small shops and I liked them better than supermarkets. The service was much better, always accompanied by a friendly, smiling face. Now, you don't receive the same warm welcome when you go into a supermarket. If you ask for assistance, the response is often, “It's over there,” with little effort to help. The level of service has diminished significantly compared to what it used to be. One of my favourite things about those small shops was the variety of smells that filled the air. Each shop had its own unique fragrance, and they were never unpleasant. You could easily tell which shop you were in by the scents around you.

I used to buy my vitamins online, although having said that I never liked doing it. I now buy from a little independent shop in town. They are a bit more expensive, but I'm supporting an independent retailer. I'm trying to buy my fruit and veg from a local farm shop, but it's quite difficult to get to as I don't have a car and the bus doesn't go near it. I have walked there before, but it's a long walk by the main road and there's no footpath so it's quite dangerous. Anyway my point is I am trying to support local businesses.

However, the met office, and BBC documentaries have been telling us they were the hottest May and June on record. As if people are not bright enough to notice that could not possibly her true. We are being conned so much, and being trained to ignore our own experience. It's very dangerous, as that's how fascism takes a hold.

We have pretty much the lowest temperature and CO2 in the planets history. CO2 has been up 8000ppm. Just before the industrial revolution it hit its lowest at about 290ppm! Below 150 plants die. CO2 is now a trace gas. We produce a trace of a trace. It’s a massive con and does not hold up to any serious scrutiny! Hence science settled and no debate aloud!!! It will cause massive deaths which of course is their plan

Hi Richard , I’m surprised you still have a log burner , I have had one my whole life and don’t want to be without one! Where I live in a small city close to the coast and the local government has been trying to convince people to go electric and gas for years! About 12 years ago before climate change was being pushed they rolled out gas in a big way and gave subsidies to get people to connect, it was cheap and efficient so they said and my wife wanted to get it as she was fed up with the mess and spiders 😂 , I said no because I said well it’s cheap now but you wait , what will we do if the price goes up ! Anyway lo and behold here in Australia we had so much gas that it was cheap but because the export market was so lucrative that we ended up whit a shortage for the domestic market and the price skyrocketed! And so many people got duped, now they are telling us that it’s bad to cook with gas and we all go electric! Now the people left with wood stoves are monitored and if the naighbour thinks your fire is to smokie he is encouraged to dob you in to the EPA because of asma suffers But I won’t be pulling out my wood burning stove for any one ! By the way love you show hope you don’t freeze and keep fighting

Even the funeral homes were bought up before 2020, although part of the deal was the funeral homes were to keep the original family names. So if you are born in hospital, the corp now have control from when we enter this world to when we exit. I found this out when someone passed in the states and when the funeral was being arranged, they were told there was a loan that was owed to the bank (by the person that passed) and that loan needed to be paid FIRST, before the monies would go towards the funeral costs.

Three decades ago, I worked - for free - for Oxfam, in a shop, as a volunteer, sorting and pricing books for sale, occasionally manning the till. I did three years, after which time, they presented me with my own, personal name tag. Not only was my 'surname' - a bit 'foreign', but only five letters - misspelled, but also my 'Christian' name - common, I even have an archangel as a namesake. Very quickly, it occurred to me, that I wasn't - even slightly - valued. Adios, Oxfam - I was gone the next week - at least my colleagues were sorry to say goodbye, but most of them didn't 'get it'.

In the early 1970s, from Mother Earth, we had a waste oil heater, over 50K BTU. Oil came free from Big Equipment repair garage(tractors/bulldozers.) 55 gal container on unit that dripped oil on a hot plate, exploded in a barrel like thick, painted blue container , flat topped, I could cook on, with safety grate all around, lasted three continuous days for a month, then turned off, cooled and plate scraped to remove burned oil material. Stove piped to outside and there was no oil odor in the house: cost $500. 4 bedroom, insulated old, moved to property, church was comfortable in winter months in N Texas. We had to pay for electricity and phone poles before the companies would bring the energy to the house…eventually, they did. What a an exciting life on a rural river bottom‼️🌸 Thank YOU🎶🌸

20 odd years ago i did not use central heating, or any heating for around ten years when i had moved into a little mid terraced house as it was always warm. Cannot recall using any other form of heating. Then i added a conservatory extension and on went the newly installed central heating system. That was 15 years ago and the outrageous bill put me in mind to never do it again. I found alternatives at quarter of the price. Whilst on this subject, my home originally had a water tank in the roof and an emmersion boiler/heater. Adding up the reason for the big swoop which came on to eradicate those systems in favour of combi boilers makes so much sense now. With a tank in the roof (able to gather rain water), the water heating was so much cheaper when compared to the water waste, (i run nearly 6 gallons of water for the combi to heat water up each time!) the combis are turned on and off and the eco way is to turn timers on, which is no different than using an emmersion system. The agenda is plain to see.

10 degrees! 😮 Do you know that when the house temperature goes under 16 degrees, it lowers your immune system, and makes you more susceptible to respiratory diseases? Below 13 degrees you have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and heart attacks. Please, please heat your home to a higher temperature Richard, as we want you to live a long time yet, and to keep communicating with us, as you do. Love to you, and Julia. ❤️

I love that jumper! I agree with you completely, especially regarding brand label addiction and local produce. I have only heard one other person advocate something I always felt to be true - Dr Chetty - referring to the idea that if a plant/animal thrives where you are, where you live, then it is likely that it is best suited for your nutritional needs. The odd treat from somewhere exotic is all very well but we have run mad with sourcing produce from all over the world, beyond seasons and reasons. The suggestion usually inspires eye rolling but is worth a thought. I do have heating - oil, which I use sparingly because I have fires, like you. The oil also heats the water and is supplied by a local firm as are my own logs. I'd guess without either being on or lit at the moment we are at 10 -12 degrees. The walls retain heat well. I've been outside for much of the day so feel quite warm! Thanks for the chat to go with my tea.

I’m glad that you have finally recognised that some of your interview guests have been entirely scurrilous and have used your gullibility to present their crack pot solutions to con your army of vulnerable followers. Well done. You have had some good ones and I recall the one on Direct Democracy that gets to the root of some of your gripes about society. Unfortunately you don’t understand society or the economy. Everything you don’t understand cannot be explained by your conspiracy theories. Many of the things you discuss have a reasonable and logical explanation, but you always refuse to listen and instead you prefer something that isn’t true. You are neurotic and prefer to think that someone is out to get you and that you must resist at all costs including not paying your bills. Persuading your similarly neurotic followers with this reasoning is frankly dangerous for them, and this is why you have attracted a persistent opposition to your views. For example suggesting that everyone should buy their food from the local farm shop and drink raw milk is physically not possible for the for the vast majority of the population who live in inner cities and urban areas. This is why food distribution networks exist as they do. Saying that schools are brainwashing our children is complete nonsense and is an insult to the dedicated teachers who work hard to support them and look out for their welfare. Your sentiments often are well intended and people are indeed suffering at the hands of our plutocracy that serves the interests of a few. Unfortunately your madcap ramblings of unidentified causes and conspiracies are not helpful, particularly so when we know why society is unbalanced, wasteful and puts people in hardship. You are right, society and Government is detrimental to the people and favours an elite, but not in the way you think it does.

Sadly, we, the common people in the U.S. are in awe of billionaires. The assumption is that they are geniuses and that they love and care for us. What helps is the claim that they care for the disadvantaged, with so-called, charities and foundations. Never thinking that these are nothing but profit making businesses, with loopholes to avoid taxes. The real battle we face happens to be the oldest battle, in human history. The haves, versus the have-nots.

Agree 100% I remember writing some thoughts before regarding the strange new language being used... Personnel has the word person.. Human resources is more like something an alien would use when talking about humans.. There was more competion on the high street when you had 3 butchers, 2 Hardware shops, 2 clothes shops etc.. and all these smaller shops employed many school leavers, there was also more small industrial estates in nearby towns.. Kids at school used to work on farms & in shops, it gave them a good knowledge of life and community.

Richard. You make many good points. So many are trapped in the system. Because it is convenient, very conveniently made this way, so people are made to feel 'comfortable'. So they feel 'normal'. The thing is, this is not normal. This is comformety, where one conforms, allows ones self to controlled by the system. When one needs to think for ones self, not be reliant on being told how to live, one will then have more control on one's life, instead of the latter! Then moan about it later!.....

Richard, I appreciate your insightful take on the evolution of HR departments from Personnel to their current roles. It's true that as organizations grow, employees can sometimes feel like cogs in a machine rather than valued individuals. However, I believe there's a growing movement within many companies to prioritize employee well-being and foster a culture of engagement. By focusing on collaboration and empowerment, we can shift the narrative from being mere “worker bees” to becoming integral parts of a thriving community. Your discussion highlights the importance of advocating for more humane workplaces, and I look forward to seeing how this conversation evolves! Stay warm, my friend. ☕☕

Yesterday, the Moon blocked out Pleiades to the eye. I took a trip to London arriving at 11pm, it was like a ghost town on the whiffy Strand, I forgot that things shut down at 10pm in London now. But, a bit more life around Leicester Square, though some shifty characters, I continued to Covent Garden, pavements eerily empty of tourists and locals, I could appreciate the lit up buildings though, and onwards to Holburn, which was as dead as the Dodo compared to previous years/decades, when you consider the many hotels there! Hopped on a bus to Camden Town, which was livelier, especially huge queues at the big Nightclub, but that's surely vulnerable to a terror attack? About a third of shops/bars seemed to be shut down in graffitti Camden Town? Anyway, I got back to Trafalgar Square at 1.30am, which was completely and unbelievably subdued, and by Westminster felt like a village vibe, of course I know it's just after Christmas and New year but still, I wondered about the lost jobs with the lost nightlife? The night bus came and was empty, plus it crawled along at 10mph to keep to its timetable. All new electric buses travelled on had no heating into the city centre and returning in shivering temperatures of minus 3 to 5 degrees. If you want nightlife try Manchester or Bristol instead. I'm amazed at the changes in London on a Friday night even in winter. Apparently, if you breathe like a crow, in a whistling lip style, but breathe in and out, don't whistle because crows rarely get ill by breathing in their sucking manner. If you look at Pleaides star people videos on Y.T. and take on board their wise philosophies, it's an eye-opener.

The worst belch of drugs was surprisingly Hampstead village, that bar across from the Tesco Express. Of course, I was merely stargazing at high-up Hampstead.

My son worked for a car insurance company, started off great, then people started to leave, so the workers left had to take on more work. He was in the legal department, the company was taken over and they were doing dodgy things. They were told to only do the cases that brought in money and ignore the other people. He hated that the money earners were jumping the queue. Their case loads were increased so much that he was leaving late and starting early to try to get through his work load. He saw a colleague break down/collapse in tears at his desk saying he couldn't cope anymore - and left through ill health. Son decided he'd had enough - they didn't get paid any extra for the time they gave to the company (which has since gone bust after being sold for £1 and the original owner was doing insider dealing things - think jail? Can't remember. Son went into care work. He loves it - money is still not great, but he's now in a place where he earns enough to live and not purely exist.
