Personal reasons I like rogue decks: -cards most of the time come off the banlist instead of getting hit, meaning that play style usually stays the same and doesn't change, you basically only get buffs -they usually have an interesting gimmick or theme that is easily enjoyable, different and interesting play style -match up unfamiliarity can help win -far more cost effective most of the time than meta decks, though not always -usually different thinking is required in set up and combo building -winning feels more achieved rather than playing what's known to be the most effective -Sometimes rogue decks are better in different formats and matchups Though I would consider floodgate decks like Draco and Elditch also rogue for the same reasonings as consistency
@petiteexplication62492 жыл бұрын
Playing MD made me realise that most Rogue decks only really lack consistency especially after playing with Kozmo,Noble knights,U.A,Solfaccords Kozmo for me only needs a few support cards and it will be meta again it really is an extremely versatile deck especially against DPE

I've been preaching for Madolche to get a Misc or a card that says "The Xyz Summon of a 'Madolche' monster cannot be negated" for nearly a decade. If they could insulate themselves from hand traps, they have a mondo resource loop that you'd have a hard time breaking.

Great video but i think there is a missed opportunity here to talk about price points. A lot of people are completely gatekept from playing meta due to yugiohs absurd price but still want to enjoy the game. They gravitate towards rogue because it is cheaper and love to hear the success stories that even cheaper decks can compete.

Many Rogue decks tend to be more interesting and cheaper to pilot when you don't pair them up with a generic meta engine. It's why most of my decks tend to be Rogue without meta engines because it's cheaper to play them, not to mention more interesting. Playing against another Rogue deck tends to lead to this back and forth game of actual strategy rather than facing down a glorified 10 minute game of combo solitaire+omni negates. Granted you can still win with Rogue decks; you just have to have a really solid understanding of game mechanics, the meta trends/card choices, and how your own deck holds up as well. This is especially true if you are on a tight budget and you don't have access to cards like Prosperity, Forbidden Drip, De Fluer, and Accesscode etc.

The best part about playing "bad" or rouge decks is that most people will not bother to read your cards and lose cuz of it.

Answer: People tend to go for rouge decks either because they genuinely like the archetype, or simply because they are those salty ass bitches that complain every time a meta deck destroys their asses, but when they win "mostly out of sheer luck" against one they go "see my deck is underrated, hard to use and I'm so skilled".

I play Buster Blader because he’s a warrior and I identify with the way of the warrior. The mentality that you are able to get back up after every defeat and come back stronger every time. My goal is to turn every monster into dragon and lock my opponent out of activating monster effects. I’m vulnerable to destruction with absolutely no protection so I added Stardust Dragon to my deck a few months ago to aid in my battle and it’s been a staple in my deck ever since. Every weakness I see, I careful craft my deck around, I run enough hand traps/board breakers but also run enough to negate any hand traps/board breakers. If I am destroyed, I can regenerate from the GY with Destruction Sword Memories pretty easily but I’m still vulnerable to any card like Called By when trying to summon my ace monster. It’s a never ending battle but I enjoy the Buster Blader archetype and that’s why he’s been my rogue deck.

If you win with a rogue deck you're cracked. If you lose, it was never good in the first place. If you win with a meta deck, duh, you were supposed to. If you lose with a meta desk you're trash at the game. Playing rogue protects your ego. Also gives +5 snowflake points since no one else is playing it. There's basically no downside unless you NEED to take first place. Basically, play rogue, you'll have more fun.

10:00 Add Lonefire blossom, Trap trick, Planet Pathfinder, Condemned witch,;and tbh is fair that the field dies with a single MST Personally I love variety, and rogue decks, being suboptimal, ends up providing that... Until someone turns Dream mirror into DPE-Scythe turbo or Halq - Auroradon Engines without synergy with the deck but rather being there to literally carry the deck are one of my biggest gripes, I mean, your hand might suck, opponent could had interrupt at a good point, and then Pankratops 2.0? Any deck can do that, so why did the rogue player choose to go with __________ deck while a meta could do that but better? Aside of that gripe... I do play Aromages, a mid tier deck (Shout-out to Monkeyfight TCG godlike list), and I'm the last person to tell that pure versions are the only way to play it, considering the amalgamation I run (Feat easy to search Boss stage), but I do try to keep the balance of optimal and unique, while giving room for opponent to play Floodgate and endless amount of negations sucks away all the fun that is supposed to be a duel, especially with generic ones like Skill drain, that while not searchable (Matcmech Alembertian & Vanity emptiness on @Ignister, being very consistent, is a different story) can win games on it's own, and it feels empty that a game is won through that method, even if it's "low tier" like Subterror or Traptrix As long as the underdog shows a different technique, one that make it shine, I can guarantee that people will cheer for it, despite ending 33th on a 32 tournament; just look at the thumbnails, that shows the underdog being at high places, and the hype that can create Your "idiot guides" are fabulous, keep it up, and may your hand stays away from drawing Hela, Utgarda and specially little Harr

I love weird decks with interesting win conditions, but I hate excessively long turns.. That's probably why I play War Rock and Utopia. It's fine if you're clearly planning things out and breaking down a difficult board, but if you're playing at a lower rank or a more casual level don't spend 10 minutes on the first turn when your opponent can't even chain into anything.. That's fine on a competitive level where there's actual stakes but nobody wants to sit around for that long in Master Duel.

Control decks are boring to play against, not just YGO but a lot of card games I saw, just that YGO Meta is pretty much control on board building and negates because it's strong. That's one thing I don't like about modern YGO, it's not about playing the game but to NOT let your opponent play the game ,that's boring and nobody likes their play to be interrupted (MTG players hate Blue decks for a reason). This is why I prefer more aggressive decks, go big or go home.
@renaldyhaen2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's the problem in Modern YGO. When pure control deck usually has small stat and specific effect to control opponent. But for combo, they have easy access to generic extra deck and setup various and multiple interruption, including powerful omni-negate with big body. . Pure control deck usually fairer and give chance to play (except they play floodgates).

idk, I think people love rogue decks partially because it's fun to root for the underdog. Personally, I play Ogdoadics because not only are they shit, but thanks to generic reptile good stuff, I can mishmash reptiliannes and alien cards with it, and it makes it unique. I think its funny to see someone play meta lose to something that is objectively garbage, like reptiles lol. "Your 500 dollar deck lost to my 100 dollar deck OMEGALUL"

We like rogue decks because they're interactive. Meta is summon baron, savage, griffin, phenix, artifact scythe, and your maxx c'ed before you even play one card. (An actual scenario that I had) Literally been running 3 dark ruler no more, 3 infinite impermanence, 3 ash, 2 kaiju slumber, and 3 evenly matched with my unchained deck just to be able to play my damn first turn. Not to win. To PLAY. Too many decks have extremely abusive abilities. Eldlich is indestructible 3500 and running every floodgate in the game. Swordsoul running every monster omni negate in the game. Floowandereeze normal summon on your turn repeatedly, tribute your cards, and running barrier and Mist Valley. Meta keeps you from playing. Rogue decks are players who love the game and are sick of meta's shit. No deck should be so overwhelming that you can't do anything your first turn with a full hand or need a specific card out of 40 to do anything. Dark ruler no more shouldn't be the specific card I need every opening hand just to have a chance. This is what turns new players away from the game. Who wants to play a game where only your opponents get to play. And the cards I listed for my deck would run me roughly $180 in the real world. What new player wants to spend that just to play at locals? If not for master duel those cards wouldn't be in any decks I own. I don't know how to fix it, but there should be more restrictions on the negates people can make turn one.

I just don't like the "floodgates" from METAs or some old META or now become rogue still have annoying searchable floodgates or stop your play completely with easy way. Like Protos in Swordsoul or Barrier Statue in some Brigade Bird and Floowandereeze. Rogue deck like Shaddoll is annoying too because they have Winda as "Summon Limit". Mirrorjade is acceptable, but his "Raigeki" effect in EP is really annoying. You are either forced to OTK or play with negate deck. . Most Rogue decks use one card to stop one opponent cards, it's like trading 1 for 1. But METAs usually have something to destroy or stop a lot of things with only 1 cost, no cost, or sometimes gives them an advantage in the process.
