Brilliant explanation! Now I will never, never, never forget what modulation is! I will instantly remember a piece of paper and a rock. Explaining complex topics with analogy is a great teaching method. Thank you!

an "analogy" itself is analog transference of data, hence the name

@ 1:59 Why can't we say the Analogy in reverse? - Rock is the Message Signal, the internal components of the message depends persons inbetween the phone conversation. We can't tell those persons to speak in a restricted way = Rock shape can't be changed. - Paper is the Carrier Wave, where we can mould/cover it according to the shape of the rock (message) = changing the carrier. Finally, let us recall the basic definition of modulation: *Process of changing the carrier signal properties (such as amplitude, phase and frequency) with respect to the message signal* is analogically equivalent to the *Process of changing (covering) the paper properties (such as thickness, quality, size) with respect to the rock* I think this gives a clear picture... A great fan of Sunny from India 🇮🇳 Am I right Sunny?
@sunnyclassroom245 жыл бұрын
you can say rock is the message. however, paper does not help if we wrap it with a paper and throw the stone.

I'm confused with reason 3. Like 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi,we say 5Ghz will attenuate quicker because it has higher frequency. Then back to lower frequency signal and carrier signal,The carrier should also attenuate quicker because it has higher frequency. In order to receive the weaker carrier signal,I must use a bigger antenna than the antenna to receive low frequency signal.

@Sunny Classroom : One point I would like to make. As per my understanding Modulation with Higher frequency, is to send and receive the signal without any delay. Like a speedy transmission. From your rock example it seems that distance is also one of the factors that is affected. is that so ? Could you please elaborate a little bit ? Thank you.
@sunnyclassroom245 жыл бұрын
Thank you for pointing that out. No, it has nothing to do with the distance. It is an analogy why we need carrier wave to modulate our original data.
