Why do you need ICC Profiles for printing - Fotospeed | Paper for Fine Art & Photography

I am new to this topic. I think I already understood why we use custom profiles. I would like to know how to use them with a particular printer. For example Epson 8550, if I remember the name correctly. Is it something I do from the PC software side or dial in on the printer front panel. Finally, I would like to know how to create them. I am not sure my eye is good enough to judge the best settings.

I found the answer to my question in your eBook...'We recommend you calibrate your screen at least once a month as screens tend to drift in colour more often than printers.'
