I love that LT, her energy is unmatched and I know she was an amazing 1SG AND DS. I'm currently an E6 SSG in the army as an AGR recruiter...my goal is to retire as a SGM or a CW3 but I really want to become a drill sergeant before I attempt to go warrant. Right now numbers are low and everyone getting picked up. Although I know I could become a warrant right now and make money I know that becoming a drill sergeant first is the ultimate test of an NCO. Either I'm gonna obtain that or I'm gonna die trying. That's my why sir. Recruiting got me out my comfort zone. I'm doing great but it's something missing. I got that fire still...I think the soldiers need me out there with them. Once my time with drill is over I can look back and say I have my all to the soldiers. But what they say once an NCO always an NCO by heart.

I was prior enlisted and I just retired last year as an O4. What I was told is that a person cannot be promoted and lose money. So I was not understanding when she said she lost money. When I was in BOLC we had a SGM who got his PA and was now a 1LT. His pay stayed the exact same because he could not move up in rank and lose money .

How many letters of recommendation do you recommend and from what rank? I have one from my previous brigade commander and There is another colonel who will sign one as well, should I try one from my BDE S1 OIC or company commander? Or my current brigade commander or all 3

If a soldier enlisted with a degree, do they still gotta go through green to gold to be an officer or do they put a packet for ocs to be an officer??

In this case the Soldier can do OCS or the SM can do Green to Gold and pursue a Master’s Degree.
