About 15 years ago, Deion & Marshall Faulk tried to get NFL jobs. Both were told to pay their dues & they laughed as all-time greats. He then created a great little league program. Coaches his son from flag to high school to FCS & now FBS. They shunned him & now he’s doing it his way. He’s going to coach Shedeur in the NFL. FSU shunned him, so Shedeur committed to Taggert at FAU, Deion is the rising tide lifting boats & instead HBCUs enjoying & capitalizing on the rise…folks spent more time hating. He’s killing 2 birds with 1 stone and bring his people along for the ride & improving their situations. Clap for him.

Both you guys Arguments are OFF. Number 1. Deon's detractors are mostly Black. 2. We Black-Americans didn't doubt Deon's capabilities for one minute, nor his influence on a community. Mississippi was pulling for his success at Jackson State. In a few years he could have been Mayor of their Capitol City and possibly the first Black Governor there. Business in Jackson Mississippi had increased by 30% the last two years of Deon's stay. Mississippi...especially Black Mississippi lost when Mr. Sanders left, Black-Americans watching also felt the betrayal. We All knew what Colorado was getting with Deon Sanders and his enterouge arrival. Sanders and his son were already getting more endorsements while at Jackson State. Sander's money goes further in Mississippi than in a Colorado. It's a shame that too Black folks have white-dreams...wake-up non-white people...wake-up. The bigger picture here is about white mediocrity...meaning a negroe has to belittle him/her-self, tap-dance, scream and Holla to get white-to act. Black-Americans are telling whites our needs, white at this point are complacent with managing a falling Nation...not strengthen the nation they currently have.

Deion Sanders isn’t just a black capitalist. He is helping to develop black boys into black men, not only in football but in the journey of life. He knows they should be prepared for life after football because the majority are not making it into the NFL. You’re not playing on Coach Prime’s team without keeping your character and educational status up to par. A wealthy man coaching and leading young black boys from peewee, youth, high school and college and having his own school at one point isn’t the norm. He’s touched the lives of more black boys to black men than the majority of people in any career field. There is nothing about Deion Sanders that says going white is better. He creates opportunities for blacks boys to black men to develop and succeed.

Typical response from a white person who pretends to “understand the sentiment” and loves the BS empty statement “don’t return the racism”. 1.) If you “understood the sentiment”- you’d understand that the initial post was indicating the historical selective discriminatory structure of promoting white folks to management. Btw there are many of you who do not deserve the position of leadership/management- all ethnicities know of many non-black ppl in management positions who were inept at their jobs. 2.) Do not “Return the racism” comment. Doesn’t make any sense whatsoever within the initial posters comment. There was no hint of reverse racism in the post. You are just another white man speaking from an entitled position, as typical, defending and glazing over direct points with bullshit. Your comment doesn’t have any base. Second part of your comment was just a smoothing over from the previous bullshit you spewed.

Eddie George and Tennessee State was on NBC this past weekend. And they looked good for a while in the first half actually. Notre Dame eventually overwhelmed them tho. But at least HBCUs are now being given the chance to see where they stand against the big programs and getting those big paydays that some of those schools give out for those easy first few game warm-ups.

Have to disagree. Every coach isn’t Prime. Dancy is going to elevate. Coach Hart too. But Eddie Robinson will wither away. They are Crabs and will be crabs. They don’t win just because one their own rises. He came in to the SWAC and reached out to them all. Asked them to put names on the players uniforms. Told them it cost 5$ extra per player. Who was taking that money? People who can’t elevate individually while still knowing who you are are not helpful, you aren’t assets and you’re more a liability. These kinds of ppl only rock with Prime or the next man, because he’s winning.

@charlesislaw The national outcry wasn't because of color. It was because all those kids were already there and committed to the school. Then within a few short months, had their scholarships taken away from them. Then the students, some voluntarily, had to use the transfer portal to find a new home. Think all but one found a new school. The outcry was because many people thought that was unfair to the kids. The whole idea being preached is that the student athlete is a student first, then an athlete. Grades over games. And this looked the other way around.

Now remember this game was at Texas (Christian) University. Coach Sanders represents (change) within the system and many are not liking what they see is coming. Coach Sanders has said what they are doing with their young men in their program. The development isn't just the game, but after the game. What he is doing should already be working at HBCU's. It isn't some new method of development. People wanted Coach Sanders to stay at Jackson, but how was he going to develop the coaches and give them other opportunities. He couldn't pay his staff more or get them more recognized for other possible career opportunities unless he left. [Like he left Jackson and Coach Taylor was recommended by Sanders to be the new Head Coach]. Was that going to happen if he stayed? No. He is playing the system not the game. The game is rigged, so he has to work the system. He is stirring the pot to make change and elevate the lives of those around him. Coach Taylor had a front row seat to the system of Sanders. He will use it to mold and develop those at Jackson.

Excerpt from the book "White Rage - The Unspoken Truth of Our Racial Divide," by Carol Anderson, Ph.D., page 3 says: "The trigger for white rage, inevitably, is black advancement. It is not the mere presence of black people that is the problem; rather, it is blackness with ambition, with drive, with purpose, with aspirations, and with demands for full and equal citizenship. It is blackness that refuses to accept subjugation, to give up. A formidable array of policy assaults and legal contortions has consistently punished black resilience, black resolve." I’m not a fan of the Colorado Buffaloes, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Deion be successful against every team except mine. I’d like to see him win a championship. Deion is a special special guy with tremendous talent and skill, and a lot to offer. I’m not sure that most of the shade coming at Deion is racial. To be fair about this, he isn’t the first Black man hired as the head coach of a major college football team; Stanford, Miami, Washington, Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan State, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Syracuse, Louisville and USC, to name a few, have hired a Black head coach at one time or another. He won’t be the last. And Colorado took a chance on the brother and they’re happy to have him. The hate coming in Deion’s direction likely has more to do with his personality and style and how he handles his football recruiting business than anything else…and that hate is coming from coaches of competing football programs and their fan base, as well as from a number of dishonest and even racist reporters and commentators in the sports media world. Deion was been very successful in nearly everything he’s done and he is now a major threat to turn the college football world upside down and upset everyone’s plans. The hate is rooted mostly in fear of what this man is capable of doing. He has the Thorobreds on the roster and on the staff to win big very soon. Jackson St has given to Deion, and Deion has reciprocated. He is chasing his dream, which is his given right. He hasn’t broken any rules or done anything dishonourable in this football process. He should not be receiving hate from anyone.

This comes from an interview with "Jimmy the Greek" in January 1988: In the same WRC-TV interview, Snyder, whose remarks were termed "reprehensible" by CBS, also commented that the only sports realm in which white people then dominated was coaching and that if Black people were to "take coaching, as I think everyone wants them to, there is not going to be anything left for the white people." Snyder, during his remarks, emphasized he was not meaning to be "derogatory" but said the only thing then that "whites control are the coaching jobs - the Black talent is beautiful, it's great, it's out there. The only thing left for the whites is a couple of coaching jobs."

Deion gave the HBCUs the Blueprint for success! Unfortunately some institution’s administrators egos choose to not follow it. He was then given an opportunity to Rebrand a major PWI football program. Like Frank Sinatra he demanded to be allowed to do It “His Way” before accepting. Now the NCAA Oligarchs are worried because he is beating them in their own Capitalism game. No more Free college for the Boosters and family friends sons without any actual talent. That along with his recruiting advances is really scaring the good ole boys sports plantation money game.😂 Time coming once again to move the goalpost!🙄😔

That line he read about wat triggers the rage is on point!! A lot of the analysts are upset. They want Deion to HUMBLE himself. I’ve noticed that word is selectively used for blk ppl. They love blk ppl when the belief is they are naturally humble (know their place) but hella triggered if a blk person has too much pride & belief in themselves (goes to mindset). They want Deion to HUMBLE himself & I’ve noticed that some are saying they can’t wait for Colorado to get beat. One said he hopes Nebraska beats Colorado this week. That’s the “teach him/them a lesson” or punishment part of the equation that Dr Anderson speaks of.

Thank you Ms Hunter for having the courage to cut the brother off when he was saying Deion is bringing "grills and Louies and chains" as if this is what is Black. This is the limited perception of Blackness that our kids already have and white people go along with it. Lets not let that be who we are. Dressing conservative is not weak or not Black it is understanding that you are being scrutinized by those that have a lot of power and influence that need to see Black people that do not look like we are in a video. If we not going to limit all that other people groups are lets not impose such limited stereotypes on ourselves. Play football and keep winning and while you at it distribute some literature from our Black scholars not celebrities or athletes but Carter G Woodson, John H Clark, Frances Cress-Welsing, Baldwin, Toni Morrison...James Cone... 2 points, 1) in all other communities it's about Father's & son's except ours which renders us subjected , emotional & weak, so seeing the Father with his kids disciplined is scary , it's what other communities use through the black momma's,2 Deion is a Soul bro, respects everyone but I'm my daddy, this we all know is what the government and momma's been running for decades, it's like that scripture that talks about turning the hearts of the children back to their Father and vice versa, that confidence frightens the Whole world, so imagine this in the other areas of your neighborhood near you!!! I’m old school and I was not born to make white people comfortable. I will voice my opinion to their face because my dad was that way. The top 20 teams are 80% black players, but have white coaches. Coach Prime left a blueprint for HBCUs to follow, highlighting the administrative mindset has to change. Going to Colorado let’s the world know that black coaches can change the landscape of football at the power 5 level. Thus the reason for bringing former HBCU coaches on board to Colorado. Coach Prime is a visionary that makes folks uncomfortable and I love it. They will shock the world.

Fans must give it up for Colorado because Coach Prime was the 4th Black coach there. But, he was a proven coach from Jackson State before Buffs. Analysts said it would take a minute to assimilate a championship team with over 50 new players. But, Deion is doing what Deion does. Alumni and fans root for their own college teams. No disrespect! Coach Prime will one day leave CU for the NFL. His fans believe and will support him wherever he takes his talents.
